The argument there was that the show was giving wrong message, promoting stupidity. Then why not apply the same arguments here as well. Just because people aren't learning anything from this show doesn't mean it can't be criticized for the Heavenly intervention in EMAs. Affairs are not God's interventions, they are scandals as stated everywhere, even in Hollywood. Shouldn't that be pointed out?

So, what't the point of this argument?

I'm still confused as to why the heavenly intervention track is upsetting so many people. Care to explain please? So I get that the people who are against the show aren't against it because of ema but because of how they are trying to justify it, correct? I just fail to see why it's an issue that they dragged God into this. There are many reputable movies I know that portray so many immoral acts in the name of God. Not only movies but also in real life. Is this perhaps a cultural, societal, or geographical thing? Because where I live, most people wouldn't have any issue with the God thing...as long as it's on tv. No hate, I'm genuinely curious :)

Yes they are. They are getting afraid and getting suspicious on their husbands. One should see the comments under colorstv Facebook page. Some have asked their husbands if they will do this to them like Kunal, and husbands told them to stop watching such disgusting shows lol. Anyway, I want to laugh when I see such comments, but then when I think about it, I don't blame them. I was also really affected with the last Indian show I watched where child abuse, mental illness and EMA were justified and made a joke of and justice never being served which I am sensitive about esp mental illness and all of them actually so I can understand people being effected by this show like that. And this show too I was affected where EMA was looked divine love, but I am happy finally people are protesting against EMA. It's about time. Indian tv have been making shows in recent times and justifying EMA one way or another when already torture and crimes against women are extremely high in India because all such shows only show man cheating on a woman with another woman making woman vs woman. It's rarely ever a woman cheating on a man. Such patriarchy. Make me feel disgusted. They don't show woman cheating because they know viewers always hate or blame woman so they instead show man cheating and 2 woman crazy over a guy as they know viewers will accept man doing such stuffs I thought it was just recent times, but recently searching old Ekta shows were all filled with EMA and all kind of double standards. I was child hen so never understood and just enjoyed. Now I am disgusted by it. I am happy finally ppl are seeing this disgusting trend. The only think I am against is bashing actors for it. DD and Shakti are getting bashed for no faults of theirs.

ITV tries to portray stalking, harassment, force, physical assault as romance on so many occasions & it surprises me when it's all fine since the scenes are kind of our guilty pleasure. Consent is not really a word taken into consideration most of the times. But in reality, that would make people run away. Atleast, now some people object to such portrayal but there is still a long way to go.

Also, did anyone see the recent promo of ISA? I saw it in my fb feed, and that ruksar being married is taking the male leads name and her husband is beating her up for it. Ruksaar is a black character, but does she deserve physical abuse for taking a man's word and the show glorifying it like it's okay for her to be beaten up for it? I never watched the show except knowing little bits of in videos and the story. And after hearing ruksaar never had parents and was supposed to be married to the male lead but he got married to someone else and since then she has got crazy, I was glad I never watched the show as I was thinking to watch since the Muslim background it shared with my family culture so I wanted to see. They are again showing woman against woman. In real life, it's extremly rare to find a woman completely evil yet these serials are so unrealistic that they make it seem like more than Half population of females are completely evil and desperate like that for someone's husband. And she having no parents and then not getting married to a guy she was supposed to, I would have preferred to show her grey or white and then move on like how it's in real life and also because she should've gotten a happy ending after being orphan since childhood. Not unrealistic and stupidity like that. Pakistani and American shows never show such stupidity and unrealistic characters.

Ok. I will love to explain. I live in the US, so I am a not stranger to the concept of extramarital affairs. I see it in movies, on tv and have seen it in real life; it is common. Yet, I don't want to paint all Americans with a broad brush: not because such topics are portrayed on tv or in movies means we give it tacit support; it means we acknowledge that it happens. However, I fail to see how because it is commonplace and portrayed in movies or tv that I shouldn't criticize the show? I see it as an attempt by people who clearly support the EMA on this show to somehow shut up opponents. It's not going to happen.
As for your main question about why so many people are upset about injecting God into this unholy affair and acting as if it is sanctioned, I will only speak for myself. I do not condone the use of God or any other justification for wrong doing. And I don't care if other people disagree nor if it is commonly portrayed in movies. My personal point of view is don't bring God into this seedy affair. I don't speak for God or even others but I will say that perhaps not even an atheist would think God is so incompetent as to go the round about way to bring these two pure driven as snow lovebirds together. Pretty sure if God wanted them together he won't rob a wife of her happiness. Just saying..
It just grates on my nerves. It also suggests that the writers think the audience is stupid, that we will fall for this drivel.

Firstly, I personally hate how God is used so casually on ITV. But I think religious influence is very heavy in Indian subcontinent on most of us & also on ITV, so he is used so casually everywhere.

But, if God is brought in for some immoral act, it's plain cringing since God isn't asking people to commit them then why use him at the liberty to justify the wrongs human beings commit. Show the flaws of humans without bringing Gods in between for any justification what so ever. Cheating is a choice people make in their complete conscience, there is no GOD influencing it. So, stop using GOD as free commodity to try to affirm a point in this year & century.

Blaming/protecting God doesn't let loose of the terrorist, then why bring him in a show for EMA. It's all about human conscience, show it like that. Audience gets it in this era. God ain't going to change anything.

recently i watched ipkknd 1
in every other epi they used to have some ritual pooja.
There the makers tried to show how lavanya
who doesnt believe in god ,wears small dresses and
does not follow rituals is a bad girl and how khushi is good because she was opposite.
That was the most regressive thing about that show.

I never understood how abusive male leads are hot and how such romance is hot. I mean I am even willing to ignore some aggressiveness or even will sideline some pushing, but pushing a female lead from a roof like Arnav did to Khushal? Or RK kind of? Or the double standards of good girls wear traditional clothes and don't drink, etc while bad girls are shown to be wearing modern clothes, drinking and not able to cook. It's such a bad message and I find it extremely regressive, wrong and unfair.

I don't know about Pakistani shows; nor do I care to comment on what they do there. I will speak for what is shown in the US. I assure you, we see a lot of stupid crap on tv and in movies. You want to talk about American serials or soap operas? You would be amazed at the stupid plots. People regularly return from the dead and no one bats an eyelash. American soap operas are beyond inane.
But of course, I don't see why I should compare American or Pakistani shows to Indians. It's okay to be separate. The last I checked Americans and Pakistanis don't make the norm for Indians.Thank God.
