Writers botched up his character, because one one hand they wanted to make a hero out of him, so that Nandini and the audience can fall in love with him, but then they also hurried through the realization phase and ended up messing with his characterization. Most of us viewers have made up our own reasons as to how and why Kunal fell for Nandini. Other than that rain dance and Mauli's waxing eloquent about Nandini's virtues , which almost borders on her shipping Nandini with Kunal (weirdly) , the makers haven't given us much.

Anyways, TM has raised an interesting question - Why do we pick on the women characters' faults in such detail, when the most flawed character is actually Kunal? It could be because as a society and even as women, we are more accepting of a man's faults ?? The backlash that Kunal's character receives is nothing compared to what Nandini gets, and this very fact is proof of this inherent bias. .

Kunal is the majorly flawed character & root of this complicated equation that has begun. He is the one with whom this whole silsila began in the first place.
Rajdeep was a character who could be easily placed in black or white category. Same is not with Kunal. He is indeed a very weakly developed character in my opinion.

For me both Nandini & Mauli are hero at this juncture given the situation they live in & had to fight to be where they are today. And this opinion is likely to change in future when the time comes.

It is common sense that Kunal has some qualities of Rajdeep but in a subtle way. Then why should women fight for this spineless man is over my head. It is simple as you stated no one wants to discuss him because he is lost case like rajdeep. I think very few support kunan, and even Nandini fans don't want her to be with him. Some support but only for the chemistry between the actors and nothing more.
In all this Kunal is escaping the burn while others are busy degrading the two women in the show.

I recently started watching this series and it is been a while since I have watched an Indian show and am enjoying this new concept. I find the character of Kunal very indecisive and immature. My reasons for stating are:

He was very much in love with his wife, he said so many many times and appeared to be happily married as well. I have no issues with anyone falling out of love (emotions can and do change) but my main issue is the fact that he is cheating on his wife. He can figure his feelings out I get that but I am not able to understand that and again this is from what I have seen is that if you claim to love someone so much, then why not talk to them? I so badly want to see a heart to heart between him and Mauli.

While is deciding "his emotions, feelings, call what you may, he is leading the other girl on as well. He knows she feels something why give those lingering looks all the time (and why can't anyone else in the room notice that?) what will that achieve?

I get that this is a show and eventually N and K will be together which is again fair enough but I will never get that satisfaction that he fell in love with Nandini's qualities and not her dance. From what I have read (haven't watched the previous episodes) he fell in love after watching her dance? I mean that's just weird.

You are absolutely right in stating that Kunal and Rajdeep have many similarities and to be very honest although I hate Rajdeep (I do not like anyone who raises their hand on a woman) I am not disappointed in him like I am with the male lead unfortunately. I honestly don't understand how this love can be true and deep as well? I mean what is to say that tomorrow he won't fall for someone who dances better than Nandini?

I really don't want her not crying...infact I want her to cry her heart out venting all if it, screaming if she wants to for the betrayal, for trusting blindly, for always thinking about others...and then I want her to rise from her ashes like a phoenix'r andchuck these two people out of her Life. What
theyy do with theirr lives after that shouldnt bE any of her concern... i know i am going to shed tears when she does with her

Most of the people here already judge Kunal that he is lusting over nandani. Does the serial specifically shows that? Does the serial show Kunal is dreaming of nandani on her bed or kissing her. If no then why are u all making judgement.
Kunal staring at nandani dancing in rain could be out of suprise, astonishment or admiration or it could be just attraction. And attraction doesn't mean physical or sexual only. Most men realise their feeling when they can't get off their eye from woman when woman dressed up nicely or just doing something interesting.

Many Indian serial shows that man staring at woman and I read comment of how cute it is. Infact if Kunal is not married then most people will comment how cute this scene is.

I can also say Nandani has an eye on Kunal from the beginnings and infact she want to say Kunal I am desiring of him by hugging him in the accident scene. Before accident scene Kunal has not done anything which can conclude that he is trying to seduce Nandani. But I know all the female here will come to protect her

Crying out sometimes helps in pouring out the pain and frustration coz of a betrayal. Any woman in her place will cry, coz no tears doesn't have to mean will power always. It could also be a sign of immersion of pain deep inside without letting it out, which isn't good in the long run.
Your last lines, I really want that to happen. Can we have that pretty soon please... Coz one guy's behaviour with her is getting on my nerves.

Staring with innocent, flirtatious ,romantic interest is liked not creepy stares. There's a difference you see.

Nandini never eyed Kunal with anything other than mere r espect as her freind's husband before the so called Baba's stupid foretelling happened. The starting point was Kunal. His feelings which came after seeing her dance in rain its so shallow, more like a mere attraction. Nandini still has justification coz of the bitter abusive marriage she went through. But there's none for Kunal. He's absolutely remorseless unlike Nandini.

They may not show kissing but I think by now we all know that he has emotionally cheated on his wife. From what I have watched and again I have not watched previous episodes, he is thinking about Nandini and a lot.

Attraction is valid - walking on the street admiring a beautiful/ attractive man or woman is natural and no harm, similarly finding a movie star handsome is normal too, however, when one thinks about their wife's friend in terms of feelings which are more than platonic then that is crossing the line.

I thought Nandini started feeling emotionally towards Kunal after that baba conversation? I am not even sure if that baba was real or it could be her subconscious but from her perspective it makes sense to fall for a man who is not abusive - what's Kunal's excuse?

He's not a hero, for sure. If there's a hero it's the women in this story. Since I have a natural bias towards the legal wife, I'd also say its Mauli for me.
If Nandini throws Kunal away and walks off she'll be a hero too. But K is definitely not. He's a cheapo who doesn't deserve either of the women.

I was just thinking about this. Is he even a trophy? Honestly if a man can fall in love with a woman because of her dance, what will happen when better dancer comes along?

I am of the same mindset- in a relationship the one who is committed has the burden of proof. When you commit then you be loyal to that commitment. If you do fall out of that love or are conflicted about it then best to talk to your partner and even after that you remain conflicted then best to leave. But this whole , while I figure out what to do about Nandini, I don't want to rock the boat with Mauli " is no hero in my book.
