The family get together begins. Mauli's mom doesn't prefer Nandini's presence. She constantly tries to demotivate her. The typical person that she is she keeps throwing insults at her but Deeda comes as a saviour of Nandini.
Even when they all were having fun the tenseness between Kunal n Nandini spreads its claw and deeply impacts his each and every move. So much so that Kunal fails to enjoy the light moments with his family. The smile keeps on vanishing from his face every now and then. The condition of Nandini is not much different either.
The pizza scene brings back the dilemma again. Nandini falls in a false situation but saves the day by cleverly wiping the other half of the ketchup. Else it would have posed as a bigger question to Mauli's mom and would have been hard to avoid. Though I don't see much eyes raising there as the pizza was meant for Mauli in the first place.
All through the time Nandini holds the same taut , timid and nervous demeanour. When Kunal tries to talk to her she flees from the spot. Nandini is constantly in terror of being cornered by Kunal.
At night Kunal n Mauli had their personal time and although we see Mauli as uber romantic the exact opposite picture is Kunal. He is off and unfocused. His physique is with Mauli but his self is elsewhere. And the point to be noted is Kunal doesn't reciprocate back to his wife's intimacy. He instead avoids the situation. When alone he replays the way Nandini had burned her own hand in saving his and it continues to haunt him. Kunal is perplexed, he wants to understand what Nandini is hiding in her heart but his incapability to do so drives him crazy. Sometimes he is sure of her mind; sometimes he isn't, his thoughts are all confused and distorted. And that make things harder for him.
Once he returns to Mauli his thoughts take a backseat and the loving husband one more time emerge back. Kunal still loves his wife. He might have lost a place of his heart elsewhere...but one part of him still belongs to Mauli and will always do.
Nandini locates the about to be extinguished diya and instantly gets to fire it up when Kunal comes and places his hand around it.
Kunal too is troubled because of Nandini and wants to see her carefree and alive. Hence he tells Nandini he certainly won't do any such thing that would hurt any member of the family and that includes her. His words hold sincerity and honesty. He assures her by his genuine motive. Kunal even goes a bit further to ask her if keeping distance from her will help and when she doesn't answer he takes her silence as an Yes and tries to make it sure that that's if what she wants then he would do the same.
Kunal with his whole being tries to abate Nandini's fear. He understands her so well. Her fright, insecurities and struggle are in no way hidden from him. That's why Kunal tries to make her at ease. Her troubles and anguish disturbs him to a great extent as he cares for her deeply and cannot see her this way. For Nandini he is ready to do whatever is there in his power. He even tells her -- "kab taak yun ghut ghut kar jiogi?"
Whereas Nandini is in extreme trepidation. Kunal's words further disrupt her calm nerve and she is unable to reply immediately. Though after his assurance she feels somewhat relieved And at last when she gathers the courage to answer, Kunal has already left. He had begun to stand true to his promise and vanished from her sight.
Precap is scary but as per the news Kunal will be unharmed. But whether it turns matter again to a new twist will be a thing to watch!
