Well, i beg to differ here with some of the discussions done here.
Being modern, working and educated woman doesn't mean you don't have to learn cooking. In this fast growing world a person has to be multitalented and should be self sufficient. You don't get maids to cook for you .You have to cook for yourself and I really don't know what makes people feel that a person who doesn't know cooking is "modern" and the one who is a good cook has to be termed as " traditional ".

Take my own example, i am a postgraduate n working individual,i really love cooking n love to experiment with different food stuffs. I wear saree everyday to my work place, though it is the dress code here i love wearing sarees ,salwars , dresses ,gowns etc.I really hate the concept of torn jeans and the weird styled modern clothing. My mom is also a working woman. She is a foodie ,loves cooking and an expert in cooking traditional dishes.Even my brother knows cooking and he also joins us to learn cooking , because he too believes that knowing how to cook is essential as you never know when the need arises!!

So, does that make me or my family less modern just because we all love cooking ? I believe that every individual must know to cook atleast basic food stuffs.

If wearing indian costumes like salwars and sarees and cooking makes someone less modern, m really proud to be called one .😃

ye baat bilkul sahi hai yar! But forcing a girl to cook or insisting that it's her duty because she is a girl is wrong just like pulling down a girl and calling her backdated, because she loves cooking...my opinion...

Nice post Mou 😊 Personally I don't like cooking but I love eating cooked food 😆😆 I learnt cooking because I wanted to be independent and not depend on anyone to cook for me and hopefully when I marry my husband will share the load for cooking for the family too.
