It's me! Der aaye durust aaye wali fan again! I have another letter for you! First I thought that I am gonna make a post about "50 shades of Nandini"! Then I thought k why not write to the one who is showing these 50 shades instead and mesmerizing us over and over again, with her flawless performance! So, here I am...
Since your last show ended, I wished you to take something very different this time! A character and a show that will be completely different from all your previous shows and characters as well as different from all tv shows and protagonists! I was waiting and waiting and waiting and then suddenly I heard about you being in talks for taking up a project names BAWRE NAIN, based on KANK! And bang!! I knew whatever be the character, it's surely gonna be different! And you being the main protagonist, I felt your character is definitely gonna be grey! And a pang of HAPPINESS! Then the mock shoot videos got leaked and I was a bit disappointed, because it's surely not grey! It's sweet and I found the look very simple! Then there came rumors whether you are gonna be there or not! Honestly, patience ki dhajjiya udd rahi thi meri... But then the first edited promo in Colors and main khushi se phoole nehi sama rahi thi... I really couldn't stop grinning for a few days! I mean most of the times! Was a bit worried for the simple look though! Then came press announcement and the shoot started in Goa... My worries for your look were gone... because HOW CAN SOMEONE LOOK SOOO DAMN WOW! IN HER 30s AND LOOKING LIKE 20s! And your looks are still killing me! Hayee!!ok main kaha se kaha pohoch gayi! Woh kiya hai ki aapka chahera dimag mein aaye to jaane ka naam nehi leti hai! Khair chhoro... you know pretty well how pretty you are!! Let's come to the main point! So, I was expecting only a sweet woman who is gonna get involved in the turmoil of feelings! And the show began...
Came the CANT TAKE MY EYES OFF YOU KIND OF BEAUTY with a lot of sweetness and along brought the characteristics- anxious, low self-esteem, always frightened ... but still somehow living! Continuously for a few episodes, we saw what really happens to her each day and how she is just... living... it feels terrifying that there are Nandinis out there... and here comes the first shade played by Drashti Dhami as Nandini... I donno what to say, I actually went numb seeing Nandini getting tortured! I mean how?? These scenes are definitely most exhausting ones, both mentally and physically and you played them in a way as if it's actually happening to you... I couldn't feel my whole body for a few moments after I saw the scene Rajdeep kicking Nandini and after that tears came rolling down my cheeks... the effect of a flawless performance! The fragile Nandini made me wish to give her a jaadoo ki jhappi... among all these episodes of showing the tormented Nandini, we also witnessed the happy and emotional Nandini, who found her best friend, whom she never thought she will meet again... iss bar bhi rulaya aapne, par woh khushi k aansu the... then came the hospital scene, where Nandini, for the first time, spoke against Rajdeep, frightened, but still protesting... the writer, director- fabulous... the performer-hats off!! Eyes, voice, body language- just perfect! You were just killing it as broken Nandini... the one who was afraid to even sit up but was now thinking about standing up... Nandu was getting stronger... I was eager to see Drashti's way of bringing the change in Nandini...
It started raining... Nandini was in no mood of getting wet, but destiny had other plans...destiny forced Nandini to feel the rain...she broke the chain that was holding her from being alive, danced like a free bird... " taal se taal mila... Nandini was truly alive, because Drashti put her soul in this new,free spirited Nandini... the next shade of Nandini... we started seeing the Happy Nandini now... the sweetheart Nandini and as usual you played the sweetheart effortlessly, maybe because you are the same shade of sweetheart in your real life... in between these, we met the Nandini who actually stood up against Rajdeep and even planned to move out of her friend's house, so that she doesn't bother them! That Nandini was no more there, who was guilty and scared that she ruined the whole decoration while entering her friend's house! She was a little more confident and now when she was learning to walk a little, she had dreams to fly... we have even witnessed a little bit of the NAUGHTY TALKATIVE Nandini we heard about, from Mouli! and this transformation of Nandini, everyday a bit more confidence in her eyes, a little more strength in her voice and a little more change in the body language... the graph should have been continuous and it is continuous... the change is well written of course, but what amazes me is how beautifully your eyes, voice and body language is catching the needed change for Nandini's character growth, the steady change ... then came the time when Rajdeep apologizes to Nandini and we witness the shade of ideal forgiving Indian wife in her and we got a complete shock when Nandini takes an 180degree turn! This Nandini was bang on and so was this Drashti! The Nandu who used to shake in front of Rajdeep, now stood up tall in front of him, in a very calm way she spoke her heart out,and in a very confident way she showed him, his original place! "She needed a hero, so she became one" And again I was like... how do you do that?? I have no words to appreciate your performance in this scene! She was calm,her voice was steady, her words showed that she was sure about what she wants, her body language showed that she doesn't fear him anymore , she had no hurry and she will leave only after she finishes what she has come for... and... there was surely a fire in those two eyes! The fire that says Nandini is ready to fly and nothing can stop her now! Fly Nandini ...
I am no more the "little disappointed that the role is rather a colorful one than grey (I mean until now)! Because it is already showing a number of shades and the way you depicted each of shades, even the subtle differences among them, proves how natural you are as an actress... I know there are much more to come and I really can't wait... you do it effortlessly,with such ease...the performances are flawless, perfect ... I thank the makers for showing Nandini's journey in such a beautiful way and I am just sooo happy that you took up this role... keep rocking the shades... 50 Shades of Nandini...đ
