Valmiki Ramayan does not mention Meghnad's wife at all. Later versions add that Sulochana was the daughter of the king of serpents. It need not be Sesha or Vasuki, it could be anyone else. There were many kings among the Nagas and they ruled on behalf of Vasuki and Sesha and my guess is that Sulochana is probably the daughter of one of those kings.

Yes... There's pretty much no logic in the storyline. If it was an original fantasy story it could be great but it's just not Ramayan.

Toddlers being made kings/heir apparent is still not a good thing. Usually that doesn't happen unless in emergency cases when the ruler has suddenly passed away or deemed unfit to rule.

They showed so many new asurs. They could have brought in those actors as grown up versions of the eight kids instead and some nice stories and banter between them would have been great to see.

As for Gandhara, according to this storyline, maybe that's why they are going to war with the Gandharvas. No idea why Bharatha was appointed as the caretaker and him summoning Gandharvas seem to imply that he had subdued them and ruled over them. In Valmiki Ramayan, he destroys them all in the war. Let's see what they show this week...

And for some reason sheshnaag was angry with meghu

So he only in his human avtaar was cause of meghus death

There have been many stories

But I never heard vasuki being meghu sasur

Or for another of those naags

It was always sheshnaag

Btw in dharm yodhha garud it was shown both sheshnaag and vasuki were good naags

One was Vishnu bhakt one was shiv bhakt

So both got very high place with them

Rest were evil naags

Takshak kaliya were main naags

Kalliya ke sar par Krishna ka dance tha

Garud had that boon that snakes will be his food

And garud was cursed abt not going in yamuna nadi

Much recent stories mention that she is either Vasuki or Sesha's daughter. Whoever the father is, Ravan and Meghanada subdued Patala Loka and to prevent further destruction either Sulochana proposes the wedding or the Naga King offers her is marriage to Indrajit. The king was angry to have been forced to part with his daughter whom he loved a lot. Since Meghanada was the one who was instrumental in the victory over Patala, he was cursed.

It seems strange to me that either Vasuki or Sesha would lose to Meghanada since both of them were practically invincible.

The Nagas were initially considered evil since they were willingly followed their mother Kadru's every order. Later, they changed but not as much as the first two - Sesha and Vasuki who right from the beginning were against their mother's actions and words. Sesha left much before and Vasuki left when he was cursed by Kadru when he refused to help her cheat in a wager with Vinata.

There are many prominent Nagas. Takshaka, Kaliya or Kalinga and Karkodaka (this one is quite angry and vengeful) are mentioned a lot.

Takshaka had to kill Parikshit because of Sage Shringi's curse.

Garuda was cursed by Sage Shaubhari since his fight with Kalinga disturbed his penances, hence couldn't enter Yamuna.
