Why isn't the Mangalsutra protecting Shree?

Mahant told Madhu that as long Shree is wearing the mangalsutra..the athma won't be able harm her in anyway..but the athma has possesed Sumati n is now even physically harming Shree..by beating her up n even burning her hand..so how come the Mangalsutra isn't protecting shree from the athma..she is harming Shree in every possible way..
What about Madhu bhabhi?..she is aware that the athma escaped the bottle..n she even got to know about Sumati's weird behaviour..so she cud've easily guessed that the athma is possesing Sumati

i agree with every word u said! Why isn't the mangalsutra protectin shree?? This is confusin.

maybe the mangal sutra is protecting Shree from more serious dangers such as being murdered, hurt badly etc. so minor injuries are acceptable?? i dont know guys am just guessing BUT i really hate it when they potray women as weak characters who will just cry

I think the mangalsutra will only help Shree when the aatma will try to kill her.Thats why aatma is not trying to kill her but just to scare her so she will leave Hari and go.Remember earlier so many times the aatma has tried to kill Shree.

Exactly!!!
Maddhu needs to take a step back and figure out what's going on. Instead, everyone is attacking Shree. At least Maddhu should know better. She knows Shree better than everyone else does.

We over-estimated Madhu bhabhi. She is just like everyone else. She jumped to conclusion without giving a chance to Shree to explain anything. She is worse. Damayanti atleast gave Shree a benefit of doubt. Madhu didnt even do that.
