If its some aunties or senior citizens that predominantly decide TV viewership, give TRPs & if they really love ONLY vamps or OTT elements or saas bahu saazish as being assumed then some 3-4 years back serials like Ishq Subanallah, Shakti, Kulfi Kumar Bajewala, Ishq mein Marjawan, Nimki Mukhiya, Bepannaah etc. wouldn't even get an entry into BARC urban charts, but they did.
About recent times BARC TRPs & colors TV viewership, that's a long separate topic we may look into that later.
Feel current hindi fiction TV core problem lies mostly with channels, writers & makers. Its less to do with diverse Indian prime time audiences who got scattered with various available options now, more than what was accessible few years back.š Most hindi serials that got launched last couple years on GECs are either remakes of Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi etc. successful, profitable serials or reboots of some old hindi serials. But still many remakes failed to connect deeply with hindi audiences.šµ Apart from concept, characters, story plots weekly episodic packaging, promotions, some exciting factors also matter a lot in sustaining audience interests for which budgets need to be spent too.
