I'll give respect to the national award - dadasaheb phalke, but the fact that its expanded to "international film festival" awards is a joke. The word "international" is there but only Indian cinema is considered. And of "Indian" they mean Hindi speaking so Hindi cinema and Hindi tv shows. It's all self centered crap. I hate awards in general, but I'm glad people get the recognition that they need to further their career. At the end of the day, it's a business and people's livelihoods on the line.

I have confusion whether the awards these tv people are getting is the Dadasaheb Falke awards or this is something different , even if it is different since it shares a name with such prestigious award it should also be reserved for actual deserving ones nd not people who cant even properly deliver dialogues otherwise whats the point

Nd then these people pretend like they have achieved a milestone which irks me tremendously, like whats this self obsession that u cant even judge ur performance

I feel behind this non growth of ITV ,we audiences are responsible to the utmost level.ITV does try to bring in good projects sometimes but the audiences throw them as a result it suffers from the trp game.I know trp system is to be blamed and the measuring system is a crap but that 40k houses also doesn't watch the good shows.SP did try to bring shows with different concept but it succumbed to trp pressure...for which if at all SAAKK happens ,I want it to be on OTT.Honestly speaking the channel is there for business, why will it go with a non profitable project?? It's not only ITV artists that struggles but practically the outsiders who are not star kids go thru struggle.Yup...web series are good.Heard in an IV where Nia Sharma said that working in web series gives an actor the respect and the good payment and actors are also treated well.

I agree to it.Awards are crap but it does give recognition and help in getting projects also.Actors do confess that awards does boost them up.And that boost is also necessary.Inspite of how much some actors claim that awards are not that important to them....but they do know in their heart how much they crave for it.If that wouldn't have been the case then actor/actresses wouldn't have shared links to vote for them in awards nor would have shared stories of being nominated. And we fans do get happy when our favs get awarded. So,how much we say awards are crap but they do count for fans as well as actors.😆

I'm here for the awards content! I like the interviews. I like seeing people dressed up. I like post-award interviews and the social media content.

I miss the days of the star parivaar awards. Zee rishtey awards are there. Unfortunately I don't care for much Zee shows so wasn't really excited for them this year.

I hate the voting process though. The SAAKK twitter and IG tag become a mess with the voting. And these stupid award sites just want the traffic and views. There's no rhyme or reason to the voting.

@bold: I wholeheartedly agree. It's a chicken and egg situation. Will PH flood us with unique content forcing the audience to change or will the audience demand for new content bring the change for PH. Ekta has been recycling the same content yet her shows like kumkum bhagya and kundali bhagya get ratings, which is mostly because they're on primetime. Gul Khan has been recycling her content too. The TRP system sucks and so does the audience. I think TV will get phased out by the younger generation wanting more OTT content, easy access content. Not everybody has time to sit in front of the TV 7pm to 11pm!

ITV hours seem horrible, working 12+ hours has to be torture. Then leads working every day of the month without breaks. The PH not planning ahead and having banked episodes. It all seems like a shitty way to run things. Even the conditions seem a little intolerable to me.

Wiki says the actual Dadasaheb Phalke is the one given out by the Indian government and to only one person a year.

And also this excerpt: "Several other awards and film festivals have been named after Dadasaheb Phalke, sometimes leading to confusion. Such awards include the Dadasaheb Phalke Film Foundation Awards and the Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Awards, which are unrelated to the award conferred by the Directorate of Film Festivals. Some prominent filmmakers, such as Shyam Benegal, have proposed that the Government of India step in to prevent such use of the Dadasaheb Phalke name but the Information and Broadcasting ministry has said that it could not do so since the names of the new awards are not an exact copy"

No wonder we get confused by it. And then people try to just use the name to elevate themselves.

@bold: Honestly, acting seems like a narcissistic endeavor, so I'm not surprised that self-obsession drives the industry. I think being self-centered is part of the job. How else could people commit to looking good and putting on a performance always?

I too get excited not only with pre and post events of award functions but also with the awards. Honestly speaking I wait for the news if the actor whom I like is getting awarded or not.I would love to hear their IVs and wait eagerly to see them how they are decked up.But I don't bother about others😆Nowadays it's hard to keep a count of the number of award functions.Almost after few days I see a new award being launched and the IG pages craving for engagement. And now the most ridiculous part is...award functions going for season concept...WTH?? It sounds like serials going for S1/S2😆

For real....so many awards and they have such redundant names of indian and television used in all different iterations. It's all ridiculous. I'm glad we don't take it that seriously. I feel like even the awards people know how ridiculous it is. They don't even try to hold a real gala...even mailing the trophies after.

@bold: Awards season or same awards being given multiple times a year???
