First day in college and already sparks have started flying between Anokhi and Shaurya.

Shaurya is in a happy state of mind and tells his father so, but the latter knows his son well enough to know he is hiding a lot.

I liked the reference Shaurya makes about Anokhi 'Lagta hein nange paon chalne hein'

He is trying to say this in an indifferent manner but with his innate good nature, he cannot see someone suffering even if it is Anokhi and her jootelall,.

Ravi and Anokhi little conversation is cute and I missed these little scenes later on.

Bebo has so much of Devi's trat, the way she looked down on the college guy and said 'aapne'. Both Bebo and her gang are now on a mission and this is further reinforced when Anokhi refers to her as a weak student and later she sees arguing with Shaurya.

Shaurya is supposed to have forgotten axbout everything that has happened before but it does not sxtop him from refering to past events to Anokhi. The way he treated Anokhi was very unprofessorlike when he asked Anokhi if she needed an invitation to join the class. Is this how you treat a student the first day in your lecture by sending her out.

Anokhi also is quite stubborn, and always justifies her action. When you know someone has been hellbent in not allowing you to join sIAC, arguing to that person and trying to make him see reason is a waste of time. She even dared tell Shaurya he could continue with his lecture, like she is doing him a favour. It is the last drop that reverts Shaurya to form and makes him take action in the name of discipline. But this does not stop our jugni from taking notes from outside and , On top of that she finally tells him off by saying he should not be treatingx her as such.

Side note:

Reema has already warned Anokhi about the VIP gang meaning ragging is not something new.

I liked the saree Gaytri was wearing, it was really lovely.

Shaan looks up towarsd Aastha and Gaytri and Kanchan admires Aastha from far and wish they could have the same courage. This is a lot of openings for S2.

The day starts with the father son duo talking normally. I wonder how many time do they even do that? Their conversation makes me think...how much does shaan know shaurya. Somedays he is on point and some days very far from it. Shaurya like always wants to be the savior from afar

Ravi and Anokhi. I wish they had continued their association. It was a cute conversation. Love that she does not give up and keeps coming up with ideas to fix her problems instead of crying about them!

While I understand Anokhi is new, so people did take advantage of her (cue the wrong classroom) but she ia also acting a bit foolish (cue her behaviour in class)

The clash at entering the classroom? Destiny is upto something :P

Shaurya is a no nonsense professor. This fact is very much established in the first 1 minute of the class. Honestly the special invitation dialogue was rude but is very common in colleges. His behaviour honestly reminded me of my khadoos no nonsense professors from college. He introduced Anokhi to the class but her response to his introduction was rude and cocky and a lecture. (i dont know if this was due to the the dialogue or the delivery). Again then with the taking of notes...she spoke back (I know its her nature! BUT...) Honestly, i know shaurya was rude and unreasonable and strict and threw her out but somewhere it did not feel as if it was due to bias.It honestly felt he was angry at the lecture and then her talking. Maybe because i have seen many professors do this exact same thing.

Anokhi on the other hand, crossed so many lines today! She lectured, she argued and somewhere i feel expected people to respond to her the same way they would in kapurthala just because she was a known student there. Khadoos professors definately dont take new students at face value! But her zeal is commendable. Taking notes from outside the class...go nikki!!!

this episode made me realize, its anokhi who starts making things personal when shaurya decides to let go. The question, is it just me? was not a question a student would ask a professor on day 1 and I found shaurya's answer rude but within boundries. But when i think more this could also be because all her life men have treated her with hate and she expects Shaurya to be no different.

Side note 1 : the scene when devi comes to shaan , kanchan and gyatri talking was too damn funny. Shaan;s sly smile says a lot there

Side note 2: Bebo is the evil sister and kitty is not so evil

Side note 3 : Oooofffff! the look Shaurya gives his sisters when they try to listen in on Anokhi and his conversation! I just could not. One look.

This episode was a set up for future ShaKhi interactions:

1. Shaurya in his own way is looking out for Anokhi, but not getting the credit. Knowing Anokhi is without footwear, Shaurya informs Shaan of her dilemma. Shaan corrects it with the help of Ravi. Ravi credits Shaan so obviously Anokhi does too. Again, everyone is a credit chor. And Anokhi's mind isn't willing to credit Shaurya for good deeds. Instead of thinking that maybe Shaurya told Shaan since he witnessed the shoe breaking, she immediately assumes Shaan must have just seen her and helped her. I'm not saying she's wrong, it's just interesting.

2. Shaurya's facade! Shaan mentions Shaurya's inability to voice his feelings, "Jo kuch bhi tumhare mann me hai na, kabhi tum usse zahir nahi hone dete". In the future, post rustication, Shaurya also admits his inability to voice his feelings to Anokhi and sometimes people just have to understand him. Shaurya doesn't share because he thinks it doesn't matter to anyone. This insecure feeling follows him into his relationship with Anokhi.

3. "Mere Shaurya bhaiyya sirf ek pari ke kismat main likha hai" Bebo says this as Shakhi's kismat collide! This was in response to Shaurya Sabherwal's college fangirls thirsting over him "Physics, Chemistry, Maths sab padh sakti hoon, agar Shaurya sir padhaye to". I like when this comes back again during their haldi phone call. Anokhi is aware that girls drool over Shaurya. One comment that was interesting was when one girl says "if only he wasn't our teacher", so the taboo of professor and student not crossing the line is mentioned in passing, but never really explored in the show.

4. Between Anokhi coming to class late and then talking in class, Shaurya has formed an opinion of Anokhi as a person. A rule breaker. Someone who ignores the carefully crafted prospectus of his precious institution. He also tells her she makes excuses for her behavior, then complains, then takes someone's help. These are the seeds of the anger and jealousy laced future tirade that happens in the library.

5. Shaurya kicked Anokhi out of class for the first time, with a simple "get out!". Shaurya hates being ignored in his fiefdom. It's interesting that he let the sleeping student stay, but the one who talked in his class and ignored him gets kicked out. I think it's because the guy was quick to apologize. Anokhi on the other hand felt the need to make Shaurya understand. Shaurya was very curt, but also correct in saying "Apni galti ko maana seekho". I don't know if Anokhi ever really learned that lesson.

Side note:

~ Reema and Anokhi's friendship begins!! I love a healthy female friendship, full of support and devoid of jealousy!

~ I admire Anokhi's commitment to her education. Standing outside the class and taking notes FTW!!

~ Kanchan is such a Aastha fan! I can't stand that Shaan said Aastha was a woman of 'great character' and that she had principles and never did anything wrong. They royally ignore her worst mistake in life! Where Shaurya is concerned, she chose wrong! It's a whitewashing of her character to ignore that flaw.

Life's been a little hectic. I try to watch the episode and write a small review everyday, but I've been bad at replying. So sorry about that!! I'll get better once the weekend rolls around........I think!😛
