One of my favourite episodes where the intelligence of Anokhi is meted out against Shaurya cunning questions. Let us look at each individual today:
Aastha, is fighting tooth and nail for Anokhi. Her phone call to Shaan was quite rude according to me, No how are you even out of politeness, she goes direct to the subject of Anokhi. Aastha feels she has enough right over Shaan to request him to look after Anokhi and doing everything for Anokhi, but why is it that when it came to her son, she abandoned him to the Sabherwals...? This is something not acceptable to me... How can you be strong for Anokhi but not for your child. How is it you did not contact your husband for the last 25 years to enquire about your son?
IKR!! It is so strange of Aastha to do that when she is shown as a strong independent woman. This is the only inconsistent part in SAAKK. Sometimes she claimed that she came to see Shaurya but wasn't ALLOWED to do so.
In the patch up episode, she said she saw him from a distance all the time. Why not take a chance and approach him? He admits that he missed her always.
In post accident episode, she said she couldn't gather courage to come SH and meet him, but Anokhi did.
Shaan has always been a weak man and I believe Aastha knew it even before she married him, but still she expected a lot from him then and now. It looks like Shaan always needed that one phone call to come out of his stupor/sorrow/ drunken state. It never happened during these 25 years...
Shaan looks like a caring and emotional man. Just that phone call had him all emotional...
Shaan looks a self-centered man. Much like the rest of Sabherwal men. At some point, even Shaurya was. It is a sign of male-entitlement rewarded to them as a part of their upbringing.
Notice how Shaan always spoke of his pain of separation for 25 years but never spoke of how Shaurya grew up with his parents for 25 years. Or how did Aastha live those 25 yrs. It was like, Aastha is a strong independent woman, she had it easy, she didn't suffer through the same pain of separation from her husband and son.
Shaurya's anger when he sees Shaan caring for Anokhi and ensuring she has eaten, again points out to the fact that he has never got any such caring attention from any of his parents...reinforcing his abandonment issues...
TBH, my heart breaks at his jealousy. The way he looks at Shaan shows his distaste and anger for those years of neglect.
The interview:
Anokhi needs to stand so she can be on eye level with Shaurya....
Reaction around the table when Anokhi starts answering:
Two lady teachers: Admiration
Shaan: pride
Tej and Alok: Awe and Fright
Shaurya: Anger and Irritation, but at the same time a start of admiration at the depth of her knowledge.
Forgot to say, Tej could have killed Alok for his stupid comment about Tulsidas and anokhi having to explain to him...
The dream of Anokhi is so pure: Learn to be strong and capable to take care of those in need, be it her mother, sister, or anybody else..
The first 'takkar' of Shakhi is just riveting and the sparks have already started to fly...
