Tej vs Devi

Hi everyone.

So far, Tej seemed to be a lot better person than Devi. Yeah, he is somewhat misogynist, patriarchal, egoistic, does not value or respect educated women much but I think that comes from the false pride he has on his family's name, reputation and his past.

Did he know about BM's plotting to bring back Shagun? Did he have a clue on Anokhi's kidnapping? I didn’t feel so. He seems to be oblivious of Devi's this side.

He doesn’t seem to be a disgusting person like Alok. He respects his wife, Devi. Also, it's only him who had permitted Anokhi to give the interview despite not wanting Aastha's student to be admitted into SIAC. And after 50-50 votes on the admission, he was the one who took the final decision in the favour of Anokhi because of her merit.

I guess, he might have a physical issue for which BM could not be a mother. Only he knows this and definitely for a man like him, this is a big blow to his ego. May be that's why, he overlooked the wrongdoings of Devi to get Shaurya and supported her. This served 2 purposes of him: his intention to make Aastha pay for her wish to do a job and filling Devi's empty life with a child she was pining for. I remember him saying in one of the earlier episodes, "Jitna koshish tumne usse uska maa se dur rakhne ke liye, utna to khud ki kareeb laane ke liye bhi nahi kiya tha."

What do u think about it, guys?

I don't think Tej is a better person than Devi. It's been a trend in south Asian dramas to show the female as the main antagonist, since women who are wives of the male head of the family stay at home, have nothing to do rather than planning/plotting against other female members of the house who are subordinate to her. Tej is even worse than Devi. The makers aren't showing it as openly as they are showcasing Devi. Because Tej is a busy man who has to handle institutional affairs outside, he isn't getting enough time at house to show his evil side. But trust me on this, as far as I've noticed his dialogues and characterization, he seems to be worse than Devi. But he lets Devi do all the talking since what he thinks is mostly done by Devi already.

It is also possible. He might have taught Devi his principles so well that he doesn't have to step in.

I agree. Both of them have zero guilt for destroying Shaan's family life, turning him into an alcoholic. This not how a head of the family behaves. It's downright autocratic.

I had similar opinion about Tej... But then I was made to realize by forumwasis only that he is actually in a way root cause of all problems... He is firing his expectations through Devi...

The way he supported Anmol, Kitty, Bebo gang till media warning was called out... The way he rusticated Anokhi unethically... Are just some of the core characteristics that proves he is no better than Devi!

But of them rather have such a solid chemistry that can destroy everything in minutes and when they are actually together.... They seem to be unbeatable...
