Hey guys, new in this forum. Just putting my thoughts here to increase forum activity😆

So, when I watched the promos, I was convinced that I would not watch the show since the ML was promoted as a typical ML. However, I caught the hug scene on insta and watched the episodes prior to that one. Out of curiosity, I watched it the whole week since I wanted to see how the makers would handle the very sensitive track - it was kind of like the make or break situation for me.

And I have to say that the writers did a pretty fine job, making me tick a lot of boxes. Such type of tracks are often brushed under the carpet in ITV - ragging is seen as part of college life, harrasment is seen as part and parcel of being a women - these have been too normalised in ITV context, and this show was a welcome breather. The trauma that the victim goes through, the victim shaming, how colleges handle such high profile cases and how standing up for oneself kind of breaks the dam and opens the way for many others to follow suit. I am so glad that the writers did not strip Anokhi of her agency to feel in all of this.

And Shaurya, while prejudiced, is not completely blinded. Seriously, rare quality in a ML.

Considering that it's a remake, I have seen people say that it's not a scene by scene copy, and as an audience this is what you want.

Coming to the chemistry, I have always said actors may have chemistry, but it is good writing that sustains that chemistry. While there were sparks during that hug scene, it was non- romantic and rightly so in that situation. But, still, maybe its how the characters have been etched and the turmoil that both have gone through that made that scene awe-worthy. If these two could set insta on fire with a hug that had absolutely no romance, then I can only imagine what would happen when the romance starts.

@ bold - and it was close to reality ... that is the main plus point in this show writing !

I am following this show from starting - even though they promoted ML a bit different...

I like ...ML / FL with shades..... not moral less....

Here, shaurya , the way he is - due to bad parenting from his forced...foster parents …

I hope writers do not make him pendulum (like other show) ... swinging back and forth from foster parents clutch (dark) to anokhi/aastha (bright side) ...

I would love to see slow but steady growth in his character and later....feeling for .. anokhi & bringing back aastha... ...too.

Except for a moment or two, Shaurya was pretty much correct in his stance.

For me, the way he reacted in the classroom after Anokhi pointed out the potential suspects was the biggest outlier. I didn’t expect outright punishment and support but he started countering her by getting too personal and bringing in tid bits that were not relevant. Perhaps it was the initial shock of hearing that his sisters were involved and the alleged molesting. He seemed to forget that she was hesitating to even enter the classroom a minute earlier.

Thinking Anokhi was trying to sensationalize it all was another red flag. That she wanted attention and wanted to bring down the reputation of SIAC in partnership with Aastha Now that was thinking a bit like typical ML. What made it worse was he saw her condition first hand that night

for me the way Shaurya spoke about the incident with his family was the biggest surprise because we didn’t see blind support for his family or the rich student behind the scenes. He did not hesitate to call out his sisters. He did not hide back from the truth he saw. But he also didn’t go deep into the investigation and I wonder what was holding him back. Most likely the reputation of the institution. I really hope he finds out bebo called the press and they don’t keep the hanging.

Out of all of them, Shaan had the most balanced and supportive stance and when he did get upset with Anokhi, it was justified but he felt he could trust her. Both Shaurya and Shaan have known Anokhi for the same amount of time but one has much more trust in her, attributed to his relationship with Aastha.

I liked Karanvir since the first time I watched him in girl in the city season 2😎 but was not sure about Anokhi's character.

As I watched past episodes recently on hotstar. I fell in love with her character as well.

She is a fierce personality, who knows how to fight back. Right now it looks like Anokhi is going to be the bridge between Shan-Aastha-Shaurya.

Its interesting how both Astha-Shaan have already developed a relationship with Anokhi. Their dynamics will be both a boon and a bane to whatever progress she makes with Shaurya.

I am very interested to see how this happens with Badi Ma's reaction😆

Also Shagun's blessing/curse for Shaurya. It will be really great to see Shaurya fall for Anokhi first. One sided love for starters with some possessive and jealousy here and there considering she is studying in college, and there are few other boys😆

I so wanna see Shaurya falling first, but with the way Shaurya has been portrayed, it will still be plausible if she falls first or crushes on him. But the teacher-student relationship will obviously be the biggest hurdle, and the one who falls first will be tormented😆

But most importantly makers should not change core personalities of Anokhi and Shaurya. When this happens then people start losing interest.

I mean right now she is so admant on not getting married and wanting to be someone. She should not turn into a cry baby before badi ma and papa.

Similarly Shaurya is quite a forceful character at present. It's in his nature to dominate others. They shouldn't turn him into a cry baby once the truth starts to come out

True. Both would need to grow out, but they should not compromise with the core personality.

This is exactly what I was saying in my daily episode analysis thread.

Although I've had a huge crush on Karanvir and started watching only for him, I've put off this show for weeks because I didn't like the promos of Shaurya's character.

Shaurya is nothing how they showed him in the promo. I think the promo was a bad promotional strategy because it showed the lead in a too negative light. This is why this show didn't attract audiences in the start.

But as you said, the story in reality is more nuanced and I'm loving the show now. Hope kore people realise how good it is and start watching soon!

The promos kind of showed him in a completely negative light. He is definitely not a typical MCP, instead, he is prejudiced and has been misdirected, but nothing that he cannot grow out of.

Child neglect is a very serious issue that the show would be tackling.

And I feel that the show is not only about him outgrowing his prejudice, but also about Astha-Shaan learning that they were wrong, probably not in the stance, but definitely in their neglect of Shaurya.
