The handling of the present track

Hey guys, new in this forum. Just putting my thoughts here to increase forum activity😆

So, when I watched the promos, I was convinced that I would not watch the show since the ML was promoted as a typical ML. However, I caught the hug scene on insta and watched the episodes prior to that one. Out of curiosity, I watched it the whole week since I wanted to see how the makers would handle the very sensitive track - it was kind of like the make or break situation for me.

And I have to say that the writers did a pretty fine job, making me tick a lot of boxes. Such type of tracks are often brushed under the carpet in ITV - ragging is seen as part of college life, harrasment is seen as part and parcel of being a women - these have been too normalised in ITV context, and this show was a welcome breather. The trauma that the victim goes through, the victim shaming, how colleges handle such high profile cases and how standing up for oneself kind of breaks the dam and opens the way for many others to follow suit. I am so glad that the writers did not strip Anokhi of her agency to feel in all of this.

And Shaurya, while prejudiced, is not completely blinded. Seriously, rare quality in a ML.

Considering that it's a remake, I have seen people say that it's not a scene by scene copy, and as an audience this is what you want.

Coming to the chemistry, I have always said actors may have chemistry, but it is good writing that sustains that chemistry. While there were sparks during that hug scene, it was non- romantic and rightly so in that situation. But, still, maybe its how the characters have been etched and the turmoil that both have gone through that made that scene awe-worthy. If these two could set insta on fire with a hug that had absolutely no romance, then I can only imagine what would happen when the romance starts.

On this note, leave your thoughts.

Have a blessed Sunday.

And oh, Happy Valentine's Day to all those celebrating. Much love.🌹❤

The promos got my attention and the production house behind the show. I was curious to see how this story would pan out. Opposites attract is the oldest recipe in the book. The story focused on education as well which piqued my interest and how they’d handle the teacher and student relationship. Aastha’s character was also a revelation. Female lead characterization stood out especially after the gender equality speech. Shaurya is described as a masked misogynist so that got my curiosity going too. What’s behind the mask? Show has pleasantly surprised me and exceeded expectations thus far. I hope they don’t forget the main premise as the story and relationships progress and the treatment stays the same (though the pacing can be better)

Completely agree with your points - good writing, characterization and story telling is key and can really elevate the chemistry and depth of a TV couple. Even make the most basic scene stand out. Maybe a non romantic one worthy of repeat watches solely because there are still sparks. The interview scene, train scene and hug - perfect examples of non romantic situations that still had the chemistry

On the track - completely agree. They showed Anokhi through the shock and suffering - showed her gain the strength to fight back and not just for herself but other women. She’s trying to make the college a better place in the long run so this stuff does not happen again. Hope Shaurya realizes that down the line. Like Shaan said, she has opened up their eyes to the ragging and harassment that was probably going on for a long time under their watch and oblivious to them.

Hi, even I am new to this forum and just like you I wasn't interested in watching the show as thought it will be a typical ITV show but then I saw the hug scene on instagram and then watched the episode and I actually loved it. they are doing excellent job with the current track not making it typical and I really liked how Shaurya realistically asked for proof instead of blindly believing anyone.

Looks like only a hug did make all of us crazy. ShaKhi chemistry is on fire.

But ofcourse this show is a breath of fresh air. All the characters are unique in their own way. Especially the characterisation of the leads is good and very relatable. Both Anokhi and Shaurya are different from other ITV couples and their journey together and as individuals would be quite interesting to see.

And ofcourse I loved the fact that Shaurya has a brain and use it unlike other ITV male leads and good thing is Anokhi is not shown as a devi.

I don't think I've ever rewatched a non-romantic scene, but the interview and hug scene were firsts and im sure I'll rewatch the upcoming interrogation scene again.

So far, the characterisation is layered as well which brings another dynamic to the story. They both have their strong and weak moments as well.

Moreover, the father-son chemistry, the sisters and mother daughter chemistry, the mother-son strained relationship are just cherry on the cake❤️

Welcome to you too then🤗

Except for a moment or two, Shaurya was pretty much correct in his stance.

Agree with you. I started watching this show recently after I watched a small clip of Sakhi hug on YouTube

These two have great chemistry and height difference is just❤️

I liked Karanvir since the first time I watched him in girl in the city season 2😎 but was not sure about Anokhi's character.

As I watched past episodes recently on hotstar. I fell in love with her character as well.

She is a fierce personality, who knows how to fight back. Right now it looks like Anokhi is going to be the bridge between Shan-Aastha-Shaurya.

I am very interested to see how this happens with Badi Ma's reaction😆

Also Shagun's blessing/curse for Shaurya. It will be really great to see Shaurya fall for Anokhi first. One sided love for starters with some possessive and jealousy here and there considering she is studying in college, and there are few other boys😆

But most importantly makers should not change core personalities of Anokhi and Shaurya. When this happens then people start losing interest.

I mean right now she is so admant on not getting married and wanting to be someone. She should not turn into a cry baby before badi ma and papa.

Similarly Shaurya is quite a forceful character at present. It's in his nature to dominate others. They shouldn't turn him into a cry baby once the truth starts to come out

This is exactly what I was saying in my daily episode analysis thread.

Although I've had a huge crush on Karanvir and started watching only for him, I've put off this show for weeks because I didn't like the promos of Shaurya's character.

Shaurya is nothing how they showed him in the promo. I think the promo was a bad promotional strategy because it showed the lead in a too negative light. This is why this show didn't attract audiences in the start.

But as you said, the story in reality is more nuanced and I'm loving the show now. Hope kore people realise how good it is and start watching soon!

It’s interesting though it’s a remake.but so far they handle the show quite well.but in my opinion they shouldn’t copy the age old trip , fall, catch and unnecessary long EyeLock with wind blowing.please makers do the romance in a organic way.give the journey layers and depth.it’s not difficult but try to a bit creative.the lead have chemistry (that I fell in the hug scene)but it’s not like magic or crackling.but they can become great if the writer keep the core characters of them intact.and give us a wonderful journey of love and companionship.

Thanks.best of luck shakhi.
