In their defense that's kind of how Indian joint family runs. The Elder BIL and SIL get the control and decision making power. I think Shaurya is elder than Kanchan's husband. That's why Devi so obsessed with him. Being the eldest and the heir of the Empire since they don't have their own kid.

But during the hug, he was neither clueless nor shocked according to me, in deep thinking maybe, regarding what lead to Anokhi being trapped in the classroom, just as voices his thoughts moments later, "Tum yahan kaise ....... Matlab ......."

But more than that, I think it was instinctive to try and comfort her, especially given the vulnerable condition she was in .........

After he stopped her from running hither and thither, she came to him for support and hugged him......... He too offered the support and comfort she needed in that moment by keeping his hand on her head....... And it was all instinctive, be it scared Anokhi hugging him or Shaurya holding her arm with one hand and placing his other hand in her head......... He was really worried that something wrong might have happened with her and hence he was shouting her name throughout the college building before finding her...... I don't think that he was shocked or clueless, it was just instinctive to comfort her in that moment, after he had been worrying and searching her for quite some time........

Same same. Definitely don’t want a forced marriage. Hope they follow the original here. Even with Shagun, both her and Shaurya talked about settling down prior to actually going ahead with the engagement. Obviously Shaurya had his “terms and conditions” but it was refreshing to see that they still talked about it. Force’s marriage just doesn’t go with the narration and characters. Anokhi ki manzil Shaadi nahi and won’t be until she furthers her studies and finds the right guy. Shaurya problem needs to reconcile with his inner childhood issues and turmoil before he can start a true long term relationship with someone or else it will suffer

This is a Star Plus serial but also a tony and deeya singh production so hope they can balance the good content with sustainable ratings and need for drama. Good content, ShaKhi scenes and family drama to keep ratings happy.

Will be interesting to see the ratings after the hug. Interview scenes were really well done but they weren’t solely focused on Shakhi so the ratings hardly changed. Same for the train scenes. The hug episode was at a different emotional level though.

I hope the ratings soar high!! It’s a good story and like where they are going w the leads. Icing on the cake is that the leads get along off screen too!

@bold i mentioned about the deep thinking too..

shock according to me is her push( she was not that violent or vulnerable before shaurya)😆. even we viewers thought that,once the door opens both will hug..but the scene was portrayed in totally different angle..😆

between let us not go gaga over the hug..

saw a Youtube segment,where shaurya was just sitting emotionless,when anokhi was complaining about the ragging and abuse.

And about the YouTube segment, I had kind of expected it, he is not going to change from Mr. Crude to Mr. Sensible overnight, especially with the prejudices he has against Anokhi and also because bits Indian Television..........

For me the beauty of the scene was that despite his prejudices he was able to comfort her in her moment of vulnerability.
