I have a feeling she went to court for Shaurya’s custody and Devi and husband used their power to defeat her..hence she asked Shaurya to check with his Badi ma. Why I feel she has gone to court is , she knows to complain to police and all..so sure she would have fought for his custody.

Badi ma always tells Shaurya that they didn’t have child because of his responsibility they had. That’s just to blackmail him.i think they couldn’t have kid and hence they planned to snatch Shaurya.

I have been big fan of IPK and still active in some FFs..first time here..so my filmy brain comes up with these theories 😄

Somehow I find Aasta and Shaan to be completely natural and not dramatic. In the back story, Aasta might have fought for Shaurya's custody and lost it because of SWs clout. Once you lose legal custody then there is nothing she can do. It happened close to 25 years back and it was plenty of time for everyone to move on. Aasta might have fought for her son at that time. She clearly says Shaurya was "snatched from her" in one of the prev episodes.

As to her selfishness, I really standby her when Aasta says, It's a decision she took for her self-respect. There are plenty of people who diverse because of compatibility issues, domestic violence, and other issues. It's not necessary to cling on to a marriage and live a futile life just because you have a child. If you have to blame someone for Shaurya's condition it should be Shaan who took Shaurya's responsibility during separation and was careless in taking care of his son. He had his own wounds to deal with at that time. And anyway as per his dialog, he agrees that it's his fault that Shaurya turned this way.

Shaurya had definitely issues. He seems like an ignored kid who acts out on others. And definitely whatever happened in the past is not his past. But in one of the past episodes, he rudely dismissed Aasta when she tried to talk to him. He also insulted her by asking her to sign some documents. During admission time he tried to throw Aasta out by calling security. He behaved rudely and Shaan has to warn him to be within his limits. Do you want Aasta to get humiliated even further by talking to Shaurya again?

I felt she is a woman to be respected. I hope Shaurya's character evolves to understand his mother and be proud of her and her achievements.

I completely agree with you. I wanted to bring that up but general consensus seems to be that Shaurya is completely faultless in this but that isn’t entirely true from the earlier episodes. As a child, he definitely got a raw deal. I get him being upset and frustrated internally. But at the same time, he has very clearly taken that frustration out on Aastha multiple times. He told her he would put her in a mental institution in one of the earlier epi where Anokhi got the trophy and clearly told her to stay away from him, then tried to one up by getting her to sign papers that legally had no meaning and then threatening to throw her out of SIAC without her saying anything (but was ok with Vineet creating a scene there)

Parents are used to hear things from their kids and generally can be tolerant but that limit was crossed to some extent and Aastha at some point wouldn’t want aggravate things further and further bring insult upon herself. Yes it would have been nice to see her try to talk to Shaurya but he would have further pushed her away had she tried last week. He’s not a child that she can force him to hear her out

In Indian TV, we’re so used to seeing larger than life characters that its almost odd to see characters that are natural and not perfect ideals. It’s refreshing to see a character like Aastha on a mainstream soap.

Aastha is a good teacher, no doubt. She a good daughter but not a good mother.

For arguments sake, let’s say she couldn’t take Shaurya because Devi and the hubby threatened her. What stopped from reaching out to an 18yr old Shaurya. Point here is, she didn’t reach out at all. Not then, not now.

This is what fails her miserably in my opinion. If I’m being honest, I get really angry when I see Shaan-Aastha with Anokhi.
What they did for Anokhi, they couldn’t do for their own flesh and blood. I can’t stand parents who are there for strangers but neglect their own children.

They maybe good people but they are absolute failures as parents. I don’t much care for them.

@TM - fantastic topic for discussion.

Shaurya isn’t blameless as he is a grown man but that hurt has been festering inside. It’s bound to explode.

I honestly felt really bad for him.

Aastha is a refreshing character no doubt about it. I’m just unable to look past the mom thing. I’m a mom myself l, so guess it’s taking me time to adjust.

Maybe there will be explanations but I’m not holding my breath.
