So what happened to Rajat's promotion and transfer to Deradum related to his Air Force job?
Are the audience supposed to just ignore or forget it, and look forward to Anu and Rajat's marriage ceremony?

its not a joke rajat was being promoted on the condition that he accepts the transfer, he accepted the transfer and the promotion and left for dehradun but he came back for anu so it is very well understood that he will not get a promotion or a transfer!
