In the new promo, Anu is indeed opposite Rajat and Devyani is opposite Neel

So I was thinking... what if the story goes this way

Rajat thinks the engagement is with Anu. When he walks towards her, someone says to put the ring in Devyani's finger or something and he drops the ring in shock and tells them (in a good way) that it is a misunderstanding. That he loves Anu. Minty's plan is a success

Devyani is shattered and humiliated.. Anu is angry with Rajat as she thinks its his fault.

So Sareen, to save the girls reputation, asks Shastri to announce Anu's rishta with Rajat and Neels with Devyani..

Devyani is clearly shattered and doesnt want Neil.

Neil is shattered because Devyani loves Rajat and is getting tied to him under pressure

Rajat is pissed because Anu thinks so low of hm that she believed he could get engaged to Devyani after what took place between them

Anu is angry with Rajat because of Devyani's heartbreak
