Chaya won't turn selfish. They will make Sangya the villain. I hope that Sangya and Chaya do live happily together once Sangya returns, for Light is nothing without Shadow.
Shani is also a child born out of the blessing of the Tridevon themselves. The Tridevon are imparital, though illusions may show otherwise, and thus, Shani had their traits.
Alakh, your explanation on Shani is perfect 👏👏

As for Yama, he will come through later, but I am sure much later in the show, if SidT is anything to go by.
If Shani is KaramPhal Data, Yama is DharamPhal Data. Though Chitragupta is needed, Yama knows exactly who has to die and why he has to. Based on that only is the final breath of a person's life meted out.
Shani shines out because of His dark colour, but in all reality, Yama is also supposed to be dark in colour, what with being the God of Death.

Pro, Chaya shows favoritism according to one Shastra. According to me, I don't think she would ever show favoritism to any one, as she is a Ma in the end.

Surya and Chaya interest me the most. Surya is needed for life, and yet, there is no life without the Darkness either. Chaya is that darkness. One cannot exist without the other. The importance of Chaya shines through in this. She may be Sangya's Parchai, but it is trhough the pure parchai that Surya gets the KaramPhal Data as His son. Not to say Sangya isn't pure. Sangya is the dawn that runs out before the Sun rises; She is the Usha who enchants the Sun to follow her in the Devi Mahatmaya. Yet, Chaya is the one who reflects the Sun most dutifully. Without the shadow, the meaning of light is gone. A person without a shadow is not living. And that is why KaramPhal Data is born to Chaya. For He rules the deeds of the living, after all. And every living being has a shadow.

Sorry if my thoughts are confusing :P I am still trying to make sense of them :P

@fatssrilanka- DharamPhal Data is one who judges you based on the Dharma you have done your entire life, and it is based on that Dharma that Yamaraj decides where you go. He is after all called Dharmaraj as well.

Yes, but what does Dharma mean? Karma is work, right? What is dharna?

Dharma is Truth; the truth of your life. The values you hold in your life, the ones you follow through it.
Dharma is Truth, while Karma is duty. Dharma is always higher than Karma. Always. Karma is very important, but Dharma is even more. Yet, SHani and Yama are equal, as both have both qualities imbibed in them.
