hey guys
When I used to live in Bangladesh
There were always Hijras dancing and talking
And we were always taught to be scared of them
But now that I think of them
Are they people like Saya and Soumya who were born intersex
Or are they transgender when they felt like the opposite sex

In Mumbai too where I was born and brought up, we were taught
always to stay clear of Kinners/Hijras...and to be afraid of them..
They are seen in trains and near traffic signals often...coming to
beg for money...some are outright rude and nasty...so the fear
is always there of them...But frankly before this serial never
gave them a thought..

Mostly r transgenders... But they do have Intersex n people with other medical disorders which they kidnap or parents give such babies to kinnar society... There is no choice to such people like saumya especially in India
Rather than getting medical treatment they r forced to live this way

That's so sad
I too never gave it much thought
But it's so sad how the world they are born in reject them because of medical disorders

Very valid points raised. But we are told to stay away from them who are male/female n converted into kinnar by their own choice 😊 Here Somu is TG by birth, it does nt make sense. but if it happens wd babies lyk smou in such way thn its really very disturbing reality of society 😭

Actually Kinnar is an Umbrella term used in Hindi for bothh Intersex and Transgender. As we people are not so much open to this Third gender issue people don't know much about it. You can search Oprah's show episodes on Inrersex and Transgender people on Youtube. I think you'll get more information about them.

In India Kinnars live a measurable life. They are forced to prostitution also. But yeah they also have some problem. They scare people to give money. And they even takeaway newborn babies if they aren't well paid by the baby's parents. So changes should be made on both side for the aacceptance.

I don't know but I have seen parents of new born babies become very scared of kinnars and they give away whatever they want. Not for blessings but they are scared so give them money. In this show the way Harak Singh gave money to kinnars with so much happiness this is not the whole scenery! People actually give them money they demand being afraid of them.

And I have read some news that they often kidnap normal babies to add them in their community as it will bring them more money.
