Part 12

Harman had woken up with a start to see Soumya fall on the floor pushing Natasha away he had lowered himself off the bed to check on Soumya who seemed to have slipped in a unconscious state. Picking her up in his robust arms he had placed her on the bed. "Get off from there Natasha" he had growled he was in no mood for entertainment Natasha's sudden appearance had left him provoked and what had followed had irked him to a considerable extent. Had it been any other situation Harman would have had spent an impassive evening with Natasha but right now there were other pressing issues to take care of. "Who the hell asked you to come here?" he had lashed at a visibly irritated Natasha "You did you moron!" she had retaliated in a tone matching his. "You should've told me you had another one lined up for tonight made me waste solid cash with Malhotra" she had whipped at him. "You better pay me Singh I spent time and effort getting ready for you" she had demanded placing her hands on her hips she stood glaring him. "It's just the bloody money isn't it" Harman had snapped bitingly fumbling for his wallet he had pulled out a wad of notes and thrown it at her feet.

"Take this and get out" he had instructed her Natasha had scooped up the money and had clicked out of his room with her taken care of Harman had bent down to study Soumya. She seemed fine but Harman knew that she was a storm in a teacup her inner turmoil had not escaped him though he had chosen to turn a blind eye to it initially. There was no respite from this self-churned mess he had to get her checked picking up his cell he had called Dr Mathur "Yes doctor this is Harman Singh speaking, I was wondering if you could drop by my house." Dr Mathur obviously not expecting such a call had been worried about Soumya's health and had inquired about it promptly. The vulnerable young girl had come across as rather helpless to him and her beast of a husband hadn't impressed him with his act of aloofness over her health. He wondered if Harman had been the one responsible for her ill health in the first place. Nonetheless he had committed to dropping by in around twenty minutes his duty hours at the hospital being over with he had found it best to check on Soumya before heading for home. Covering her with a blanket Harman had proceeded to complete some of his work switching on his laptop he made himself comfortable on one of the soft couches in the room and had started typing away smoking heavily. So engrossed was he in his work that he hardly registered time passing by and it appeared to him that only a few seconds had passed whence he had called the good doctor who now stood knocking at the door impatiently. Putting out his cigarette in the ash tray he had stood up and opened the door inviting the doctor in. Harman could not comprehend the admonishing stare Dr Mathur had given him when he had found the room clouded in stale cigarette smoke not that he cared anyways.

Thrusting his hands in his jean pockets he stood near the bed as Dr Mathur inspected Soumya's eyes shining a beam of torch light at them, next he monitored her blood pressure the results obviously were not to his liking. "When did she last take her medication Mr Singh?" Dr Mathur had asked an oblivious Harman. "I actually don't know..." Harman had started when he had been cut short by the aged doctor "Do you know that she has skipped her medication which in her condition can prove to be fatal. If I had known any better you definitely are the cause of this" he had pointed his finger at Harman which of course had not gone down well with Harman at all. "Listen here doctor you're supposed to bloody check her not accuse me" he had asserted. "I know exactly what I am supposed to do Mr Singh it is because of men like you those women in our society are forced to commit major crimes like suicide. You had better pay keen attention to her health because if you don't I will personally see to it that you rot behind bars for ill-treating your wife. Had it not been for your cold behavior she would not have broken down in front of a complete stranger lamenting on the fact that she had offended you in some way. Instead of helping her through this difficult phase you are making it quite impossible for her to recover." Harman stood shocked to hear the doctor reprimand him who the hell was he to talk to him in that tone that too standing under his roof and if that wasn't enough he was threatening him to getting him jailed for ill-treating his wife, what bloody wife he wasn't even married to that fool. "Damn you doctor just give her the medication and get lost I'll see to it that she gets medication from elsewhere" he had made it clear to the doctor that his services were no longer required. "No Mr Singh YOU WILL do as I say or I will go to the press first thing after I leave from here" and that had caused Harman to grit his teeth. As it was the press had tagged her as his mysterious wife and if this doctor went ahead and fed them gossip on him ill-treating her he would definitely be in a precarious position.

"What do you want?" Harman had inquired fiercely "I want you to stop troubling her, make her feel comfortable, make her feel loved and don't press for her to remember her past her condition is extremely fragile. If indeed you force her to remember anything it may cause her to stress her nerves resulting in a nervous breakdown and in her case it would be irreparable turning her into a vegetable. So it is for your own betterment when I ask you to take care of her." The doctor's tone had greatly softened now somehow Soumya reminded him of his own daughter Pooja whom he had lost in a car crash two years back. Both the men had rested their eyes on her angelic face she seemed to be in anguish her face wearing a slight wince. "See to it that she eats healthy food when she wakes up and try getting her outdoors with all this smoke she might not be able to get better in the next fifty years" Dr Mathur had eyed Harman warily. "Just take care of her" he had advised Harman yet again before administering her with an injection. Harman had groaned inwardly this was certainly not the way he had planned her stay he had wanted to ask her about her whereabouts, her family, her past now it would all have to be put on a hold till she was better. God damn it he had kicked the bed side hard and in that instant Soumya had awoken, the doctor had left by then and in the pale gold light that streamed in the room Soumya could see he wasn't very happy to see her that way. Their eyes had met then and Harman could make out the faint glisten that shone in hers she had though rolled over to her side and had closed them shut indicating her displeasure on his presence beside her. "Fine" he had muttered stomping out of the room Soumya had heard him bang the door in rage on his way out even though she knew he did not care it hurt her to think that she did not sum to much importance in his life. Natasha's appearance hadn't left a good mark on her and part of her feminine pride had been brutally crushed to see her husband entertain another without a second thought to her presence beside him. She had involuntarily replayed the kiss he had shared with that bimbo within her mind causing her heart to bleed she tried hard to find a reason for his withdrawal on their relationship yet it all appeared in vain. Her mental strain had caused her to feel ill all the more and she had sobbed herself to sleep.

Feel bad for soumya the innocent soul doesn't even know what is happening around her..she is hurt by his behavior thinking him to be her husband..well harman has his own life and it's understood he has some past that made him like what he is today but atleast he could be a little concerned for her as he was the reason she is in this state anyway the doctor is adamant on making harman care for soumya who is right now ignoring him for having hurt her by being close to another girl..well lot of things going on and many things yet to be revealed..waiting to read more of the story please continue soon

This makes things better btwn them also... And harman soumya will b connected & gud in terms & understand each other.
Doctor is too gud... He has done ryt thing ,threatened The harman Singh & shut his mouth LOL
