Chemistry

“Love is like a narcotic. At first it brings the euphoria of complete surrender. The next day, you want more. You’re not addicted yet, but you like the sensation, and you think you can still control things. You think about the person you love for two minutes, and forget them for three hours. But then you get used to that person, and you begin to be completely dependent on them. Now you think about him for three hours and forget him for two minutes. If he’s not there, you feel like an addict who can’t get a fix. And just as addicts steal and humiliate themselves to get what they need, you’re willing to do anything for love.”― Paulo Coelho, By the River Piedra I Sat Down and Wept

Love, and by that common and much flogged word, I mean all kinds of love we human beings feel in a lifetime. The love we feel for our family and friends is a beautiful feeling and all but nothing compared to what we feel for the one who fills our entire being. Love that makes your head spin and love that makes your heart beat faster than that of a cheetah chasing a prey animal.

The person who we fall in love and out of love takes our heart on what feels like a roller coaster ride. Up we go and down we plunge and this happens to all of us I suppose. They show us the depths of hell and the heights of heaven and have the power to make us feel both at the same time. Have you ever stopped and thought as to what is going on in your head while in love and out of love? Have you ever thought about what is it that makes love worth dying for and killing for and makes us feel the same when we break up and fall our of love. Heaven and Hell.

When in love, there is a whole lot of chemical processes going on that results in the secretion of these following drugs. Oxytocin, testosterone and oestrogen, dopamine, norepinephrine, serotonin, Adrenaline. Epinephrine, Vasopressin etc. WTF. How do you expect to even stand a chance of running away or stop from falling in love when such a deadly cocktail of drugs are being pumped into your system and that too by your own brain. Brutus. Neeyum Naanuma?

But there is a love, a drug, an instant fix that can be reached for at any given moment and that if freely available. That drug is called God, faith, devotion, hope, belief and prayer. Yes, I concede that it sometimes fails to deliver the goods and almost always delivers only half of what you expected or thought you were promised. But that is far better than nothing.

Prayer in full belief and trust in the higher power might not make our problems disappear but it will make them bearable.

Almost everyday, I whisper to that Entity that is God, ' I know that I problems and pain will come my way. I am not asking for you to remove them but just requesting you for the strength to face them and cross them hurdles safely. Give me pain but also show me the way and just don't abandon me.'

Am I on the same frequency with you?

In the end, when one love hurts us, we can always reach out for the other that we call heavenly one. Yes, love is a drug for life is that and more......................

This is a chemical Universe and if you and I are part of the Universe then we are chemicals too. Right.

A chemical bag weighing on average between 50 to 80 kgs and yet capable of so much good and sadly a whole lot more of bad.

Avan Aval Adhu 651 Tabula rasa

Tabula rasa is a Latin phrase often translated as clean slate in English and originates from the Roman tabula, a wax-covered tablet used for notes, which was blanked (rasa) by heating the wax and then smoothing it. This roughly equates to the English term "blank slate" (or, more literally, "erased slate") which refers to the emptiness of a slate before it being written on with chalk. Both may be renewed repeatedly, by melting the wax of the tablet or by erasing the chalk on the slate.

Hearing the snoring noises, Gayatri snarled and opened her eyes, thinking, ' I am going to slam the person's head with the first object that I can lay my hands on for ruining my sleep with these god-awful noises ' and then realised that the noises were coming from her own body.

' Don't worry about snoring, Gayatri, for we all do that when we are tired'.

Moving her head slightly to the left, she saw a heavily bearded man sitting in the chair placed against the wall. The distance between them was ten feet and more and yet the power of his smile felt like the heat of the mid-day sun for it exuded warmth, confidence and power. Immense power.

' I know you. I have seen you somewhere before this and you look, not look but somehow your smile and presence remind me of this friend, that I knew, met... not met ' and realising that she was blabbering quickly apologised, ' Sir, Please forgive me for I don't know what is going on with me for I am finding it very difficult to remember anything.

She ran her eyes over the room and said, ' This is my hotel room ' and making a startling noise asked, ' What are you doing in my room? ' and hurriedly lifted her quilt that she lay buried in and heaved a loud sigh of relief.

The man stood up and blessing her with a comforting smile, pointed to the door, ' A female friend of mine took care of you and dressed you up for the clothes that you were wearing were dirty and beyond saving'.

She stared at him with eyes reflecting her mind's confusion and asked in a feeble voice, ' What is going on? Did I black out? Who are you? Why do you look so familiar?'

' My name is Dhanashekara Pandyan ' and saying his name, he put out his hand and said, ' Gayatri it is nice meeting you. Call me Dhana for my friends call me that'.

She took his hand and he took her into his head and she saw everything. Nearly everything that had happened. But not everything for Dhana knew that Gayatri was not yet ready to learn about their kind and more importantly that she and her babies were now part of their bloodline. She would soon for unlike human blood, the blood that flowed in their alien kind differed vastly in terms of growth.

' Clementina poisoned me! Why? I meant no harm to her for I was just meeting her for the second or maybe a third time.'

She looked at Dhana, ' Sir, why do I feel that you are hiding something from me? '

' Because he feels that you are not ready yet. '

' Who are you talking about, sir? Who feels that I am not ready? ' she asked him in a confused tone.

' Even that is something that he has to decide, ma'am. I just do what he tells me.'

Moving to the windows, Dhana opened the curtains allowing the weak but golden light of the December Paris sun to stream in and turning to her, ' Merry Christmas, ma'am.'

Then pointing to the door, ' Ma'am, I hope you don't mind but there are people in and around this hotel who are tasked with watching over you. Please do not be startled if you see strangers following you or smiling at you. They are there for your protection. I am telling you this even though I know very well that you will sense them but you will not see them.

Pointing to the door, ' I am going to step out now for a cup of coffee and a walk and will return later or anytime you call me ' and pointing to her phone, ' Dhana. That is my contact name.'
