Sigh! This woman was driving him insane. But, how he loved to be driven insane by
HER! There was something about her, a childlike innocence she carried with her. She kept viewing the beautiful moon, and he kept viewing his moon, his Vennela. A blush crept up his face. Oh! God, who even thought he will ever be blushing for a woman?
"Jai, you have such a good taste."
"Yeah, I know.", He said with a dreamy look on his face.
"The resort is so good."
"Oh Yeah! The resort, it's really good!", he started fumbling. Vennela let out a loud laughter seeing him fumbling. Oh! Her laugh! It sounded so divine to his ears.
"So, you're not getting sleep Vennela? It's already 11 I guess."
"Nah! See look at the beautiful place we are in! And you're speaking of sleeping? Modhu!(Idiot)"
"Abbo! Em cheyali mari?" (Abbo! What should I do then?)
"How did you even become such a big businessman? Koncham vadandayya!", she said doing her funny antics.

Jai was so rejoicing this in his heart. He always liked to do this to her.
"Hmm okay madam. I will try to use. Now you go to sleep. I'm very sleepy"
Vennela mumbled a few curses and went, only to turn back and wish him good night. He said the same to her and went to sleep.

She kept tossing and turning in her sleep, dreaming about him, and finally fell asleep when she heard a knock on her door. Somehow she got up from the deep slumber she was in to open the door to find Jai there.
Seeing him at this time, after all the dreams she had it was hard to control herself. What does this man do to her hormones!
'What? At this time? First you ask me to go sleep and when I'm sleeping peacefully, you come and disturb it! Do you even realize how hard it is to go back to sleep without thinking of..." and then she realized what she was saying and stopped herself.
"Calm down Vennela! Calm down."
"What?"
"I was not getting sleep."
"What??", This time she smacked herself.
"Come with me na."
"Where?" Although she pretended to be angry at him, within she was smiling.
He held her hand and led her through the dark hall and led her to the balcony. Vennela's heart was beating fast, as she walked through with him. She always feared darkness, but today she felt secure with him as she clung to him. Despite she being the Vennela, she was always afraid of darkness.
He slowly moved close to her and held her by her waist and looked at her face. She was looking down and playing with her fingers. He freed her realizing she might not like it, but within he could do so she pulled him to her holding his back and moved her hands to his shoulders and looked at him with satisfaction in her eyes and acceptance in her smile. He caressed her cheeks and moved closer to her ear. 'Happy Birthday Vennela'. Her heart skipped a beat. He turned her cheek towards the moon and said, 'Do you see the moon there? It gives a smile on everyone's face. It lights up the whole world. For me, you're my moon. You're my Vennela. My light.', he said and hugged her tight. And made her sit near the balcony. She couldn't face the moon now, and a sudden fear again crept up in her.
He made her look into his eyes and said, 'Whenever there is darkness, we always look up to the moon. And whenever you fear darkness, just look into my eyes. Because you reside there. You reside in my eyes, you reside in my heart, in my life.' A tear fell down from her eyes. Nobody ever addressed her deepest fears this way.
She kept her head his shoulder on his head and let everything out, 'You know Jai, I was this small. 6 Years old. We have a big family. On this same day, my birthday we had gone to Vizag from our native to visit our relatives. All of us had gone to a restaurant that day. I, being the naughty girl slipped away from them and went out only to be kidnapped. A whole week Jai, one whole week I was kept in a dark room. I cried every night for my mom. I missed her so much. I wanted to go out of that room, back to my world. But, no one came. I cried and cried, nothing happened. I refused all food and they beat me for that.' As those painful memories came across she shivered. Jai hugged her tight. So tight, he felt a sudden anger rising in him. Who the hell dared to do so with his Vennela? 'And then after a week I did go back to my home. But that fear never went away. Even remembering my birthday gives me shivers. Dark nights, all I could do was sob.'
'Vennela, till today I wasn't there. From today I will be there for you, every moment.' He said with such intensity in his eyes, that somewhere despite all fears, a smile crept up her face and she hugged him as she fell asleep in his arms...
Jai looked at her innocent face and promised to himself that he will never let her feel pain ever. Till he is breathing, he will always be there for her...
