Ajith Billa 2 Is Undergoing Lot of ChangesAjith starrer Billa 2 is undergoing a lot of changes as his recent release Mankatha is a grand success at the box office. Billa 2's director Chakri Toleti is being assisted by the Aaranya Kaandam director Kumararaja in this and they are making a lot of changes to the original script.Mankatha took Kollywood by storm due to its massive opening and Ajith has been declared as the Emperor of Opening. To keep up to this name and to his fans' expectations, the Billa 2 team is making some changes, sources say.
For this low profile actor, the turn around success of Kho has made him step into the steep hike in his salary. Though he hails from the strong family of film production, Super Good films, Jeeva is the one who can fit any measured cloth and tailor made roles. He has no regrets over his flops and he does not rejoice on the winning streaks. But the industry feels other way that his future has to be adjudged on his upcoming movies. This could be true that the recent releases, Rowthiram and Vandan Vendran have not put Jeeva on the talk. His efforts in Kho have made him deserve Rs 1.5 crore. This may either increase or decrease and it lies on his action.

The find from Astavadhani T.Rajendran and the capable son proving the proverb, the chip of the old block, Simbu alias STR is a cocktail hero for any story. He has a different version of movie making and he does not compromise on quality for the story. Yet at times, he too dwells on action films just to focus himself to the inferior audience. In all these five years of his career spread his movie list might be less but the value is bigger. From the debut in Paruthiveeran, Karthi could emanate a sense of suitable actor for right story. His success move glided from Aayirathil Oruvan, Paiya, Naan Mahan Alla, Siruthai. The industry alludes him as one of the triumphant heroes in Tamil industry. Like his brother Surya, he too gets the rights for Telugu in addition to the salary of Rs 7 crore.

It seems that he is heading for a saturation on action as he sketched his career on ratio ' for every two or three action movies one artistic movie-. It is needless to say that his recent projects in two years ' Anniyan and Kandasamy ' received big jolts. These two films have dumped his early success like Saami, Dhool. From Beema, the decline started until some revival in Deiva Thirumagal. He has now turned back to his old style for action. His current salary is around Rs 10 crore without any further deals.

Ulaganayagan Kamal Hassan is the one artist who lives and acts for the art. He is not conscious of his salary structure but is fond of fame which is invaluable. To say the truth, he is committed to improve the Tamil film industry and for this sake he is ready to take any challenge and face hindrances. Though he is not able to reach the stardom scale on his varied themes and characters, he too is in the top list of richly paid heroes. He does not receive any rights for any area rather he releases his own production on his own. In all accounts, he gets Rs 10 ' 15 crore for a movie but he is flexible to the nature of the theme.

He has the intention to do just two films a year but it does depend on the project. After Varanam Aayiram, he made a hat-trick with two action films ' Ayan and Aadhavan. Surya receives Rs 15 crore as salary and gets the Telugu rights in addition.

This Ilayathalapathi had been the sure winner in the race for many years. But as ill luck would have it he had to face the debacle with few films two years ago. This changed the trend in the industry and he had to resort to offensive strategies to overcome the flaw. What makes Vijay differ from other two top contenders, Ajith & Surya, is the penetration among all ages of audience. His simple rendering of action in his movies win him laurels and his sense of humor bring the women audience to the fore. For nearly 80% of his films, he has settled the score by brining fortunes for the producers and the distributors. This is why the distributors had once paid full amount as advance even on the day of pooja for the new film. Now his salary structure stands at Rs 15 crore and since he has a good cinema family background with his father being director, Vijay has the practice of receiving the rights for North Arcot, South Arcot and Chennai (which is usually referred as NSC areas).

For many years, he had been the darling of A centre audience and gradually moved to other centres. His affinity with NIC Arts made him the friendly hero and from this house he gave many films.
Without minding the result of the movies, Ajith does not compromise on the remuneration. His talent show has just been emancipated with the latest Mankatha which has made the whirlwind collection to the distributors and the theatre owners. Though his movies flop at times, he is the most sought after hero after Super star. This is due to the reason that all his films have excellent openings and the fans are craze to adore the Thala. The industry claims that Ajith's salary is somewhere Rs 17 crore and with the result of Mankatha lifting him to anything else, his salary may near that of superstar soon.

It is to be noted that superstar Rajnikanth has a different scheme of acting for movies. Earlier he had the practice of making movies for nearly 4 or 5 co-producers by making them wealthy and richer. However, he had to be shelled out his salary to the tune of Rs 20 crore, in addition to certain area rights including overseas. Of late, he makes the deal for exclusive salary and do not enter into any rights basis. On this account the industry sources claim that Rajnikanth's current remuneration would be around Rs 25 ' 30 crores.

K'town was full of rumours that after seeing Mahesh Babu's Dookudu Ajith was so impressed that he invit ed Jayam Raja to direct his next film after Billa 2. Some of the media (not DC) even went ahead and reported this.
However, when we contacted Ajith's camp they categor ically denied the reports and said that Thala's next will be with director Vishnuvardhan, to be produced by A.M. Ratnam (as first reported by this news paper). Ajith is leaving for Goa for a 40-day schedule for Billa 2 in a couple of days. The new movie with Vishnu will go on the floors early next year. Sources also say that Ajith, who has decided to work in two movies a year, will proba bly sign a film directed by Vijay after he completes Vishnu's.
Meanwhile, Jayam Ravi has report edly tweeted a denial that his brother Raja will be directing Ajith in the near future.

| let's stop lavishing the praises and appreciation. He played a negative hero with a cunning mind and employed vicious tactics to con people. For that I will tip my hat in his direction. Now if Ajith's character was in par with Kamal in Sigappu Rojakkal, I would give him credit for choosing to play a negative role. But Vinayak Mahadev is suspiciously close to Daniel Ocean (George Clooney) complete with the salt and pepper hair style. It seems that Venkat Prabhu thought of crafting Daniel Ocean and as an afterthought or on insistence ended up with Vinayak Mahadev. So let's hold the applause. We never watch Venkat Prabhu movies expecting picture perfect shots like Mani Ratnam, million dollar sets like Shankar, brilliant characterization like Vettrimaran or comedy like Singeetham Sreenivasa Rao. Our expectations reign at the right level, we get in fully expecting to see a Venkat Prabhu movie. Premji will make us laugh, Vaibhav will be the innocent extra and Jai/Shiva will be the blink and you will miss hero. Logic will take a back seat and there will be no super hero stunts. The female leads will be for namesake. The story will be close to real life with more than one 'othavakarai' boys. There will be no edge of the seat climax sequences or heartwarming romances. The movie will be ordinary like our own lackluster lives. We would laugh, clap and when we head out, we would have had the satisfaction of having watched an entertainer. Period. So when Venkat Prabhu defied the rules of his genre and went about casting a real hero like Ajith, our interests were piqued. The movie was about betting and we thought he would handle it well. Betting was still a boys-only game. He was well within his boundaries, so Ajith would just add to the brand value. What went wrong? Was it the onus of directing a biggie like Ajith and the fact that it was his 50th? Venkat Prabhu is a director who does not make tall claims of brilliance. Yet, Rajni and Kamal together graced the Chennai 28 100 days function and congratulated the team for bringing out the nuances of friendship with wit and humor. When the entire team of Saroja graced the sets of Coffee with Anu, questions were forgotten and we were reeling with laughter. Goa tackled homosexuality, still a very taboo and hushed topic, with enough sincerity akin to world peace. These were the boys who made us laugh, their stories were from our backyards. They were not clean shaven and chiseled sporting six packs. Premji's costume for the most part of Chennai 600028 was a lungi. We could have ruled Venkat Prabhu as first time lucky but he was consistent through Saroja and Goa. The humor was prominent, the storyline wavering and the plot unfolds as an afterthought. We still loved them. But Mankatha was different. It had an overload of guns and it looked like Arjun was rounding off the bookies. Premji's computer gimmicks which were shamelessly "inspired" from The Italian Job let our jaws hanging out on new levels of low. Apparently the only rules that Venkat Prabhu stuck to was the number of boys. So we had Mahat, Vaibhav and Ashwin. We are not going to complain about the female actors. It is a Venkat Prabhu movie, so even if it did not have any female leads we would not have complained. We just wanted the humor, the sparks from Premji and the boys to click together. It's not that we mind that the movie was about IPL betting and that it is illegal but we don't expect serious thrillers from Venkat Prabhu. We do have Gautham Menon to dish out psych thrillers. The best part of Mankatha seems to be the Thala Briyani which we never got to taste. So yes, we feel let down. We want ordinary stories with extraordinary comedy. We want boys picked from the streets of Chennai who can make us laugh, cry and leap with joy. We don't care for logic but we want an entertainer. In fact, we just want another Saroja Saman Nikhalo. |
Well, the cast has been finalized for Billa 2. And it's none other than beauty queen Parvathy Omanakuttan, Femina Miss India World 2008, who has been roped in place of Huma Qureshi. According to sources, Parvathy will be playing Ajith's love interest in the film.
Apparently, Huma was initially signed to play the lead actress but the makers say that because of the delays of the start of the Goa schedule of the film, the actress decided to opt out of the Ajith-starrer due to date issues.
Subsequently, auditions were held and it looks like the beauty queen, who's originally from Kerala but resides in Mumbai, won hearts over here too with her performance. This movie will mark Parvathy's debut in Kollywood ' she made her debut in Bollywod with United 6 and went on to do a Malayalam film titled Madan Kolli.
When contacted, Sunir Kheteral from the production company said, "Parvathy was outstanding in her auditions and completely understood the subtle nuances of this pivotal role. She has an attitude and a screen presence, which will take her places. Later this week, she will be joining the unit in Goa, where we are currently shooting."
The other actress in the film is Bruna Abdullah, who is said to be playing a significant role. She made her debut in Bollywood in I Hate Luv Storys opposite Imran Khan.
Sources say that the second schedule of Billa 2 in Goa will be for 45 days after which the unit will leave for Georgia in Eastern Europe for the final schedule.
