Kollywood's Ilayathalapathy Vijay is going a step ahead when it comes to supporting anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare, who is on an indefinite fast in New Delhi, pressing for a powerful Jan Lokpal Bill.

Even as his counterparts conducted a one-day token hunger strike in Chennai on Tuesday, Vijay is taking a flight to the countr's capital today to meet in person Anna Hazare and his supporters at the Ramlila Grounds.

According to sources, Vijay always believed that corruption should be eradicated from the country and the society should be free of all evils. "So he is offering his support to Anna who is fighting for these causes," they say.

On Tuesday, Superstar Rajinikanth too expressed his support to Anna. "I am very happy that we have a very able and dedicated leader in Anna Hazare to lead us in this fight against corruption. This kind of peaceful movement is possible only in India which is the birthplace of Satyagraha," he said in a statement.

The numero uno actor of Tamil film industry added: "I congratulate all the Indians who have lent their support to this bloodless revolution. I am very proud to be an Indian. Jai Hind."

Velayudham Audio Launch Tomorrow

Illayathalapathy Vijay's much expected Velayudham movie audio all set to be released tomorrow (August 28th) at a grand function which is to be held on CSI Ground in Pudhur, Madurai. Vijay fans want to make the audio launch a grand event and as per reports Illayathalapathy Vijay will be taken in a convoy of 150 cars from Madurai airport to the venue.

Vijay Antony will perform live all the songs from the film. Vijay will introduce the cast and crew of the film like director Jayam Ravi and the heroines Genelia, Hansika and Saranya Mohan. Velayudham music has been scored by Vijay Antony and the movie features 5 songs all with typical Vijay styles

Here's the latest on Velayudham, the audio of which will launch in Madurai this evening.

While the audio launch function of Velayudhamwhich will be held this afternoon promises to be a star-studded affair, there will one important person missing from the thick of the action. Yes, Genelia D'Souza, one of the film's leading ladies, will not be in Madurai for the audio launch. The pretty actress, however wrote on her social networking page Today is the audio release of Velayudham, but unfortunately, I wont be there. But, I am sure it is going to be a big one. Vijay will steal the show along with the entire team.

The launch of Velayudham meanwhile, seems to be making waves already. At a recently held press meet in Madurai, actor Vijay's father said that he expects the film to be a bigger hit than Gilli. Said S A Chandrasekhar, "Velayudham will be on par with Gilli, but not in terms of the story. I am especially confident that this movie is going to be a hit, similar to Gilli. Describing the genre of the movie, SAC promises that it will be a mix of everything - action, romance, family drama, family sentiment. He added This movie has everything with a social message. Coming at the right time, this movie will talk about corruption! Vijay who had recently visited Delhi to show his support to the Hazare campaign had urged his Makkal Iyakkam members to extend their support too. Looks like Ilayathalapathy has become socially conscious. The Velayudham effect? Maybe.
