oh same here...my great grandfather was in palakkad, but now no one's there..all have moved to different places..

which part of kerala are you now settled in?

i learn to speak malayalam from my friends as at home we speak tamil..my friends used to interact with me in the language and thts how i learnt to speak..they also didnt know to read or write so couldnt learn that..

yeah... and its not that difficult to learn reading and writing in malayalam also... i had a tamil friend in school.. she lived in kerala only for a year, but by that time she learnt to read write and speak malayalam so well that ppl couldn't believe she wasn't mallu...lol

currently in oman but otherwise thrissur..dad's brought up there and so was mom for 6-7 years..later she was brought up in mumbai
