Sarathkumar as transgender in Kanchana

Perhaps for the first time in his career, Sarathkumar plays a transgender!

This happens in choreographer-actor-director-music composer Lawrence Raghavendra's forthcoming Tamil-Telugu bilingual Kanchana, a sequel to his semi-horror flick Muni!

Confirming this news, Sarathkumar said, "When Lawrence narrated the script, it was very challenging. I had no hesitation in signing on the dotted line. My focus is more on meaningful roles rather than clichd heroes who bash up a hazar goons and run around trees singing romantic duets. Apart from changes in looks and body language, I am attempting voice modulation as well."
