It also happens if there is split parenting in the house. Basically one partner is essentially there like a dummy piece while only one parent is actively involved. So a distance happens -- usually this is with fathers but it can also happen with mothers like we see with Amal and her mom.

Basically the drama is showing how dysfunctional families exist and the dynamics and fallout.

i agree with this opinion, thats why i wonder what actually happened. was she really fed up of not wanting to pursue her desires post marriage or she was in relationship? and post marriage, it seems like the mother raises the child and the father is working only and would yell at the mother for not raising the child properly...or how post marriage she gave birth but because the child is of the family, therefore the disinterest..

I know such things happen, and I am glad not every mother is ok with eloping with an ex lover or leaving their children, or committing a suicide. Marriage and having children in a big responsibility. We have mothers like Kausar who can go to any limit to secure their children, and mothers who just abandon their children like Sultana and Mahid's mom. Although it is early to judge her, because she might've been depressed.

I shouldn't hope because ITV tends to write very black and white but I would love if we get a nuanced look at why some women don't want to be mothers and walk away.

Basically show the reasoning without getting into judgement like "she is a bad woman". Show the circumstances, the frustrations, the weight of expectations and so on. Basically nuances.

It would be lovely if we get that but my guess is that they will more likely show Mahid's mom as a selfish woman who focused on her desires rather than sacrifice for family.

I really didn't like the airport scene and how Mahid seemed to snap out of his haze just because he saw Sehar. Instead, they should have shown that he was embarrassed or something rather than it be the power of love. It feels such a false narrative. After all, we have Parvez acting like a thug towards Kausar and Sehar and it is not like his violence is stopped by their eyes.

I don't like this kind of romanticism that some guy will change if he just meets this girl because then the onus of him changing or not changing comes on the girl's head. It is why domestic violence victims often get no support because wives are made to feel responsible for the husband's behaviour -- he is not changing because of your lack kind of attitude. That is just sad. So I hope the drama does better. Sigh.

something just feels different with the tracks nowadays vs how the show commenced overall at the start..if mahid takes responsibility of his own trauma rather than making seher at the supposed light under the tunnel, it just looks as if he starting to depend on her to eradicate in a jiffy...she can only advise/respect it, he needs handle his own traumas as he's a grown adult...those therapy scenes with fareed without seher's presence were good, but nowadays, something is off..i don't know if colors is interfering here for trp reasons or what..

Trp pressure is the reason for this sudden marriage promo.

Anyways main story will start after marriage only. It will be interesting to see mahid understanding seher dreams and helping her to become doctor.

I agree with this. Can't really pinpoint but something is off. Right from the episode where their marriage gets announced, there's a recurring pattern- Kausar/Seher make some dumb plan which would eventually fail, Parvez tortures them, Mahid magically becomes sane the moment he sees Seher..Its the same thing that keeps happening in every episode again and again

Kausar's plans are so painstakingly dumb that it hurts. Driving the police away by lying to them, sending Seher alone with some unknown man to Delhi..just one dumb decision after another. Makers should come up with something logical if they want us to be invested in her "plans".

Also even in the therapy sessions Farid keeps saying this "yeh ladki aapki zindagi badal legi" and all. That's not how it works. If makers wanted to show how the mere sight of Seher is enough to calm him down, then they shouldn't have bothered to include therapy sessions in the show. Atleast stay true to what you are trying to portray!

Plus the new promo shows Mahid being happy about getting married to Seher.Idk it just seems sudden and out of place especially for a guy who is supposed to be "aurton se aitbaar nahi hai" kinda man.I feel the writing is very inconsistent and a lot of times it seems like a teenage fangirl is writing the scenes..Anyways this is not to say that the show is bad. I'm still enjoying it because I turn my brain off while watching this showsmiley36

I understand that in many societies women have no choice in marriage and having kids. I agree with you.. such matters shouldn't be shown on tv as it is the woman's fault.. or that she left her child for her desire.. there are many reasons to avoid labeling women like this, and giving men reasons to commit domestic violence against them.

And since this show is about Islamic characters, I have to add that Islam gives women the right to chose their husbands. It also gives them the right to get khula (divorce) from them

I find it good for Mahid to feel for a girl who inspires him to get over his trauma. It is shown from the beginning that Seher went out of her way to help him, and stop him from committing a suicide, she was a stranger, but her sweet nature and her will to help others inspired him.. his loneliness started to reduce as she appears near him, and he started helping her too. A boy girl relationship can change the way they see the world. Those feelings (not necessarily love) can give them hope. Those who have friends and a love of a family can deal with every matter in a better way than those who have none

I agree. This show will get interesting when this marriage happens. Can't wait for Mahid/Seher's track to really begin. smiley42
