Hello friends...

This is a very interesting discussion...
Our first response to this, posted earlier in this thread, was from the "bird's eye" view...

So, we thought we must also take a "worm's eye" view...or atleast a "cat's eye" view...

Preeto is quiet her mother's daughter...We think that amongst the 5 daughters of Kanwal Dhillon Preeto has her Beeji's chaap strongest...similarly Preeto also has the strongest chaap of Papaji...We think that is why the CVs made her the 'middle' daughter...the perfect balance...

In our experience we have seen that daughters are either EXACTLY the same as their mothers in family matters (we don't mean in totality but in their approach and attitude towards family and relationships); or they are a complete anti-thesis of their mothers...this is because we learn by observing...so we either adopt our mother's completely or we reject their approach completely...we learn from their acheivements and mistakes - here we are talking attitudes and approach, we are not talking habits and action.

So we think Preeto has completely absorbed her mother's essence...As a mother and as a wife / life partner she will be EXACTLY like beeji...(that is why Rajbeer is not ready to let her go! Beeji is the ideal life partner and mother 😊...He doesn't realise this, but he has not picked his life partner; actually sub-consiously he has selected the mother for his children...!! )

We have a feeling that Preeto's comitment to her family and her fearless way of fighting for her family has also come from Beeji...even Beeji puts everything at stake for her family...Beeji fights for the good of her family like a lioness...(eg. Bobby Singh episode)...We think this attitude Preeto has taken from Beeji only...the way both of them act out this attitude / approach is different since both of them are dif people - diff. age, diff. experience, diff. times...etc etc

Now, in case of Beeji, her love (Mr. Gagandeep) and family are the same...her love is within her family. In Preeto's case her love (Rajbeer) is outside her family, at least for now.
So, Beeji didnt have to chose between family & love...but Preeto (currently) is in that choice mode.

The other common aspect between this ma-beti duo is what my grandmother would call "duniyadari ki samajh" & being "sughad"...Beeji is all about "duniyadaari"...that is another of Preeto's strong traits...which has a bearing on her actions and choices...

To put it plainly, the problem IS that she has not accepted, welcomed Rajbeer as her life partner...the moment she does that she will be like Beeji, rock solid behind him, with him, always, forever...

So at the moment, Preeto is not putting Rajbeer and her family at the same platform...where as for Beeji her husband and family have always been at the same platform...

In the end, we just want to repeat what we have said, to understand her choices we will have to understand her "Selflessness"...
