Weepy, dramatic tale of five sisters

Bhagwan ne mujhe mota banaya toh usme mere kya galti," wails the moti sister who has been rejected by several suitors in the past. This sure has got to be the most pathetic line in the history of soaps. Hasn't the scriptwriter of Sanware Sapke Sapne Preeto heard of a concept called exercise? Or he/she as fat and lazy as Meeta, who is desperate to get married but refuses to stop eating. Meeta is the eldest sister but mercifully, not the protagonist of the soap. Her ego and her complexes are as large as her size and she vents her ire on her pretty younger sister Ishmit — the beauty of the family. Ishmit is equally spineless and pathetic too. Which self-respecting girl will tolerate advances made by her lecherous brother-in-law, only because her sister threatens to commit suicide if the engagement is called off? So, how does moti Meeta get hitched? A family friend and match-match maker with the most devious mind plots to get her engaged to the once married Bobby Singh.

She tells the parents to hide the pretty daughters and pretend they have just one daughter, Meeta, when Bobby comes to visit them. The simple parents who are desperate to get rid of their antsy daughter agree to this hair-brained scheme but obviously the mother forgets her part and calls out for one of her daughters. The truth is out and Bobby, the rogue with roving eyes, instantly falls for Ishmit. That's when the chudail matchmaker convinces him to marry the plain Jane and he can reap the benefits of flirting with his sisters-in-law.

Again the script writer and the producer need to be kicked in the rear for promoting such derogatory lines where the girls are treated like products at a bargain store — buy one and get three free! Disgusting! So, who is Preeto? She is only sane and sensible member of the family, the daughter who is the son of the household and is determined to expose her jiju once she figures out his evil intentions. The silly Ishmit, instead of confessing to being harassed by her jiju, prefers to hold on to her secret and play the weeping willow instead. It's really hard to feel any kind of sympathy for such women. Instead of protecting her sister from further misery, Ishmit threatens to commit suicide after Preeto accidentally discovers that their jiju has been hitting on Ishmit.

So, what do these five sisters do besides waiting in the wings to get married? While the youngest two siblings are studying, the older ones don't seem to have any kind of goal in life. One is not even sure if Ishmit actually works though she is seeing gallivanting all over the city on her two-wheeler.
If you have a weakness for melodramatic plots and silly weeping women, watch this serial.

Whoever wrote this couln't have been more explicit and aptly described this show. This person has hit the nail on the head--Weepy Dramtic tale of 5 sisters.
Already 3 weeks have gone by and this show is not so interesting. The male lead is yet to be born(thats how I perceive).
The derogatory way woman treat woman is absurd and unacceptable.
Why dont the CVs understand and present a better a show that caters to all ages of this society????

This article is totally "Bang On".😆😆

Seriously yaar I hate it when they portray women as spineless beauties in their show!!!!!
Acc to Meeta and her mom the only thing women are born to do is getting married...they have no other ambition in life!!!!

I hope (Actually dats wat we've been doing since the show started 😆) the show catches some pace On Monday after Aditya's entry!!!!!

Excellent analysis, as everyone above pointed out!!!
Jasmeet on one hand tells her sister that nobody can separate her from aloos, and yet, she wails that God has made her fat 🤔 Dear, if you're not prepared to do what it takes to become thin, can't blame Raab for it. Only thing I thought - if she's around 30 or more, she might be justified in her desperation to marry, since that's around the time most women do marry, but if she's been doing nothing and just waiting, she sure is one big loser.
They would have done well to show what Preeto does - being a tomboy is not a job 😆 And why is she thinking about Ishu already - Ishu would have little trouble finding a hubby - since they have to get Jasmeet marry, she's the one blocking the prospects for the others.
I hope it takes Preeto a real long while b4 she marries Rajbeer, and hopefully, we don't get as far as marriages for Bani & Sodi. Show at least one sister being successful in something other than shadi, and show Bani being a somewhat adventurous girl who loves chatting w/ friends, IMing and all that.
My only slight disagreement - IMHO, Bani looks like the beauty of the family, not Ishu. And beyond the looks, Ishu's tendency to cry so easily or give kasams to prevent her sister from correcting this ugly situation quickly makes her less appealing, not more.
