Ranjana, don't worry, I knew about the adjustment upwards before writing the post as I've been tracking the ratings for awhile. I should have mentioned that when I first wrote. ๐ณ If BARC works anything like the US Nielsen ratings system, then sometimes demographic numbers will get adjusted up or adjusted down afterwards once everything is checked, so, like you mentioned, that seemed to be what happened with the numbers that week -- SS was adjusted up or revised when all the data was in. However, what I said in my earlier post about ratings possibly being a factor was based on something I noticed the weekend those preliminary ratings were released (before we saw the adjusted numbers). That weekend Zee pulled SS from their main features on YT and put them in the "ZeeTV Shows" section at the bottom of the site. At the time, I was unsure if it meant anything, but the timing of that change on the site was very interesting to me. About 2 weeks later, we hear the show is going off-air. I could be wrong and it could be coincidence, but for me the timing seemed to signal that Wk 28's prelim rating may have given Zee the "justification"/"trigger" to formally pull the plug, since it seems they may have decided the fate of the show during the Priyanka track (no July promos was an early clue you girls noticed and mentioned). My brain is a bit circuitous in processing information, so what I'm trying to say may not come out right, lol. I'm not saying ratings is a legit reason for Zee and that they don't have other agendas, but I could see why the show's producer/writer said ratings is the reason/factor they could think of. Like I said too, even if Zee wants to use ratings as an excuse, they know this show can rebound. It has rebounded before and, you're right, they're doing it right now with the back-to-back 1.7s. Overall, they keep steady. It truly is an irony looking at the show's standing now. At the end of it all, we won't know the details of Zee's motivation unless an insider spills. Zee remains Zee.
On the sleeping arrangements explanation, I know. ๐ I thought similar to you -- she's giving him pills to suppress his memory yet she makes a promise that nothing will happen until his memory returns (which would backfire anyway). ๐ I wasn't surprised. This is the same person who thought Vihaan-Aarushi were still outside of the house five minutes after they already left and later was looking for Vihaan in a random hospital filing/storeroom after his check-up. Trust me, these CVs are well aware that she's a ridic vamp. My only problem is that they give her too much screen time (I really don't want to have constant access to her vacuous thoughts).
Yeah, the slip-catch stuff is a Hindi serial staple, so I don't think we can avoid it. ๐ But I wouldn't mind if they can lessen the occurrence or frame it differently. Ravish and Mugdha are two actors who can play things really naturally, and it would be good to play to their strengths.
I agree, Archana, the writing has gotten better. Still has some characterization and pacing problems, but much better.
I'm not on Twitter, but if you guys can campaign/show love for SS and continue until next week, then that'll be great! We probably should have started this since last week. At this point, it's up to Zee to listen. Thing is, a promo for a new show, Yeh Vaada Raha, was just released on Zee's YT site. Doesn't seem to have a time on it yet, but this may be the replacement, if not Radha Krishna. ๐ Let's just keep up the support wherever and whenever we can. ๐
