The identity of the mysterious Mr Katyal in Sahara One's Sati will soon be unveiled. It is none other than actor Ayub Khan. "I play Mr Katyal in the serial. He is a polished and sophisticated character. The death of his wife has transformed him into a reserved man, who likes to keep to himself. So much so, that he has lost touch with his three daughters," says Ayub, visibly excited to be a part of the show.
Says Hemant Prabhu, director of Sati, "Actually, we are heading for a revamp. Ayub is a pleasure to work with and I am sure the audiences will love his performance. I think adding a popular name to the cast helps keep the audiences glued to their TV sets."
For the uninitiated, Sati, played by Mansi Salve has already undergone a wardrobe change - from her atypical black outfits to a colourful one. "This only indicates a pleasant change in the plot. The story, from now on, will take various twists and turns," adds Hemant.
Says Mansi, "I have been appointed to look after the wacky daughters of Mr Katyal, in the serial. Now, the screenplay will emphasise upon how I try to win their hearts."
Will Ayub Khan aka Mr Katyal play Mansi's love interest in future? "I really have no clue. Ayub is playing an important character in the serial, but you never know what future has in store for us," she replies.
