Meethi sat up in her cozy bed and opened the proof that she got; yes; a diary of 2011.It must be the diary which Sid used in his college days. Meethi muttered. She knew it was a bit cheap to break in to someone's stuff, especially reading someone's diary particularly cheap. But she couldn't help it; after all she wanted to find the secret. So she slowly opened the diary and started reading it. It had a note page about the owner. Meethi was totally taken back after reading it. It didn't seem to be Sid's diary. In the diary Sid had written that his hobbies were chatting with buddies and basket ball. She couldn't believe it- chatting and Sid- weird combination. She has in her whole lifetime seen him talking properly with anyone...Besides basketball, She hadn't seen him involving in any sports expect the regular round of work out he did. She opened the next page and started reading them. For her it seemed more fictional than a fairy story, Sid's words and style was amazing her.. She almost felt after all is the Sid here not the real one? The diary told the story of Siddhant Bharadwaj, 24 years old, last year MBA student in Delhi's most popular Management institutes. He was the college chairman and pet of everyone...Though he had a villain touch; he was indeed the hero of college. He ad a gang of Five- Himself, Karthick, Viren, Aswin and Nimisha...The crazy gang who kept the college upside down...Though he was extremely naughty and mischievous, his professors and college mates loved him to the core. An immensely talented Athlete and basketball player. Learned Karate and boxing on side of it too...The funny and sincere friend...Did anything for friends...And it goes on...


Meethi doubted if it was the Siddhant whom she daily met. He was robotic, serious and merciless while his past proves him gentle, loving, soft and good natured...How can someone change a lot over just 4 years..She wondered. And she knew the answer of her question was well hidden in the same diary... So she continued reading.


And finally around 2 in the morning she reached September 21...Her eyes which were heavy in sleep darted vigorously as she found it. Yes, some pics of Roli and Sid. That too very intimate pics...No one could predict the sort of relationship they had in the past. It was clear that they loved each other madly. The way they hold on to each other in the pics said it all. Meethi didn't feel upset or sad or not much shocked because she had predicted it already. Now all she wanted to know was what is the reason of their hatred and what is their exact love story. Meethi knew the key is in front of her and without wasting time she started reading it.

Meethi went through the day September 21 and read his diary on the date. It was so.


SEPTEMBER 21, 2011


Today was indeed a busy day. With our college day just below the nose, I was damn busy. My friends were trying their best to run behind me and get the stuff done on time. They indeed was a big help for me; my shadow and my best friends. Today things were so important that I skipped the breakfast and rushed to college all in the busy mood inviting my cute Mommy's anger. Well I didn't care about it for I knew she will melt fast. Back at the college, we were arranging the lights when the drama queen of our gang, Nimisha fetched some red lights and ran away. That was not exactly the right time for us boys to tolerate her naughtiness. Quite tempered, I ran behind her, all fast. Nimisha was running crazily and almost descended the stairs. I too ran past the stairs. I was in no control of my own velocity that I banged again some girl and she was about to fall. To be very frank that girl fell. But before she was to roll on the stairs I quickly caught hold of that person. I made her stand straight and gasped. You might be thinking that person is the heroin of my story. But no yaar, the real heroin was behind the girl whom I made to fall. She rushed to her friend. "Rishika...Are you alright?" she asked with a voice filled with anxiety. "Ya yaar...I'm" muttered the girl. Then came our girl to action. She made her friend stand back and as if Jhansi Rani was getting ready for a battle, came forward. I was expecting a big melodrama wherein the girl would scold me for making her friend fall. But again it didn't happen. "Please don't do this again...She would have fallen...You must be really careful...It's not only bad to her but also to you..." By now my friends were around me and was startled seeing a girl not more than 5 feet giving me geethopadesh. But I wasn't listening. In fact, I was staring at her shamelessly. She wore a simple white salwar and her hair played in the wind. She had big black eyes and a cute small nose. Her lips were pink and I'm damn sure she had no makeup on her face. Besides that, she had a monobrow, a feature which I admired. She said something more which I didn't listen and walked past me with her friend. I stood motionless and came out of the trance when Aswin commented "This girl is a sort of Mother Theresa...See advice...' he commented. "Not girl Aswin...Your bhabhi..." and I walked away.




My friends were open mouthed. It took some time for them to understand the scenario and when they did, they rushed to me. "Sid are you serious? Means you've fallen for that..." Asked Karthick. "No...I haven't fallen for her...She made me fall..." I said knowing that both meant the same. "areyy..Sid...Are you crazy? You have just met her now and then..." Viren asked and I stopped his comment. "It's very unfortunate that I haven't met her before...but now when I came to know about my mistake , I got to correct it..I got to love her...' I said. "He has gone mad. That Roli had made him mad..." commented Nimisha who was silent all the while. I was excited to know her name and turned to my best friend and shook her hard on shoulders. "Roli???Means you know her? Nimisha baby..Tell me yaar..." I pleaded. Nimisha felt it almost like a golden chance. She agreed to tell me about Roli, but at the cost a big box of chocolates, ice creams and a whole pack of Dominos pizza all for herself. I agreed because at the moment all I wanted was some information about Roli. I called in to the restaurant for the orders but they said they had ran out of stocks, for the day was very busy..." I smiled at Nimisha and told her the matter. I promised her to buy whatever she want the next day, but she was not giving in. She told she'll tell the details of Roli when n I give her what she wanted. I knew babbling with her won't work. So I decided to wait till the next day. But back home, I'm restless...I'm not getting sleep. If I close my eyes, she comes in front of me...finally I have fallen in love, finally...




Meethi involuntarily smiled as she read the page. Roli and Siddhant first meet had obviously touched a chord with her. Not able to wait anymore, she started reading the next page.

PART 14




Meethi pondered through the next page with so much interest of watching a Sharukh movie. It was rather filmy and unexpected in case of Sid. But she put a halt to her thoughts and continued reading.


SEPTEMBER 22 2011




I slept very late that night, all thanks to Roli. I didn't even know her full name. I wonder, why I didn't see her till date. College started back in June and it has been almost 3 months. Besides, she seemed young. May be 1st or 2nd year BSc. Not more than that. I started early again, for I had to collect the items which Nimisha demanded. Thais of course, angered my mom, but a loving kiss melted her. I started in my bike which is my another best friend. Shyam, the guy at Dominos was kind enough to come early and supply me with the stuff I asked for. I gave him a little bit tip which made him happy. Not wasting time I rushed to college. Though we boys were all set, Nimisha didn't turn up. Finally waiting and waiting, she showed her face at 9:30. I pulled her to the tree shade were we usually camp and gave her the whole box. This girl was eating all the stuff like she never saw them and the boys they were also fighting for the food like monkeys did. I was in no mood to look at the food for the basic requirement of mine was Roli. Finally when they wee done I asked "Nimisha...Now will you kind enough o tell me what you know about Roli...' "Of course Sid...When you did all this for me, why can't I? I'll tell you...She's Roli Dwiwedi, 1st year BSc..."' and she stopped. I looked at her surprised." Nimisha..Is that all you know?" I asked anxiously." Haan...I know that much na...When I told you I know more?" I was pissed off. I wanted to kill her. I gave her one nice slap on shoulders that she hissed with pain. "You'd have told this already na...you made me buy all these for just two words? Ehh?' I asked all tempered and all the other three laughed. Nimisha made a very silly expression and pouted her lips. "OK Sid...When I told, I'll help you...I'll definitely do...Think that you got all her details...' Nimisha said this, took her bag and left. I looked sadly at the empty food packets and sighed.



That afternoon, Nimisha popped up. She was too excited. I was not much expectant but Aswin asked her to speak up. "And I got it...I got details of Roli Dwivedi...' She said in the excitement of a child. I was happy and asked her the details. "As we all know her name is Roli Dwivedi, daughter of one Mr.Dwivedi. He's a businessman, but seems that he's in some real financial trouble now...Roli's mother passed away when she was 10 and since then she is the one who's raising her sister who's 13 years now...She's a dancer and a singer...topper in class..She writes poems and paints too..Last but not least up, to the knowledge of her friends, she has no boyfriends..." Nimisha finished. I was so excited that I hugged Nimisha tight. It was usual. She was like my sister and no one in the college felt anything wrong in our gestures. Nimisha...You're so good baby..." I said. "Well Sid, what are you gonna do now? I mean you got her details, but how to proceed now?" Viren asked. "I got the way to do that..." I said with the plan well written in my heart.




The rest of the day was busy,. I don't meet Roli further but I was determined to meet her the next day. Back home, my mom was a bit surprised with the sudden change in my character and she asked me what's wrong with me. Mothers!!!They really have something called 6th sense."Mom...I have found a daughter in law for you..." I said. My mom was surprised but she smiled and hold my ears. "So that's why my son is running out of home early these days..Well what's my daughter in laws name? "She asked. I told her Roli's details and she was really happy. Besides she teased me for confessing my feelings to her even before I confess it to Roli. I smiled and kissed her hands and said she's my first darling. I lay in my mother's lap and probably her presence helped me to drift to sleep.
