Suhana's Corner: Managing a maid is a duty Tweet

Hi everyone. If you thought hiring a maid means you can relax, you are so wrong. I discovered that managing your maid is a full time job and my maid has been taking me for a ride.
Instead of being at peace, I find myself pushing her in the right direction. I am not happy with the way my new maid, Madhuri, works.
My first day with Madhuri was a dampener as she didn't turn up. Later when she did I had to work along with her to get some work done. It was infuriating. I ended up buying vegetables in bulk as advised by Meena. But only when Ishaan pointed out that just the two of us would be eating here while we had a large family in Delhi did I realize Meena's vegetable proportion.
Madhuri somehow manipulated Ishaan and would be charging more than her salary to buy vegetables for us. Madhuri doesn't clean the house properly, nor does she do the work I tell her to do. She is sly and always has an excuse up her sleeve. Like I told her to make rajma but she made baigan ka bartha, even though I told her I don't like it. She told me to adjust as she had to leave early to cook rajma for her husband!! OMG. Her behaviour irritates me but I can't let her go either as I don't have a replacement.
Amidst all the maid-drama, meeting Sonali and her husband Abhishek was a surprise. Ishaan and I felt a change in Sonali and awkwardness too. Ishaan was worried when Sonali asked us not to come to her place. So I called up Sonali and invited her and Abhishek for dinner. When we began deciding the menu for the dinner, our maid turned truant again and changed our choices claiming we don't have the needed ingredients and that she has pending work in the house. This is the limit.
