Arshi...

Granting an extension for 6 months is not a guarantee of 6 months of play - time...this typically means the show is dead man walking types...the channel would have given significantly less leeway on TRPs now for the PH...there would be montioring probably on a weekly basis...and show could be yanked even earlier...

For e.g. Conan O'Brien Show which has been running since last 27 years...when it started Conan had to beg each day at the end of each episode with the studio bosses for an extension for next week upto an year.

I guess this is a decision the actor, channel and PH take together...since everyone's interests are interconnected..and its a small world anyway...

...unless the working relationship is so broken down reflected in bad - mouthing..For e.g. when Gutthi left Kapil's show...both channel & actor said they were short - changed... and yet he is back again.

You dont see that much acrimony through 'sources' in the press...So I would like to believe it has been a mutual parting..


...GR was sounding more and more cynical in last few interviews about his role in SC anyway..

...So I like to believe SP gave him a decent way out...maybe a promotion even...coz Life OK typically has shows which last for a max of 1 year...Life OK is also trying to create a brand position of being an avante garde type of channel...with more interesting themes...Sort of trying to be the Miramax of film making...

Neways...Good thing is we will get to see GR in another role...SC is destroyed anyway...So Good riddance to current torture and Godspeed to GR.

The channel has been accomodating Jennifer for long vacations so they could have done the same for Gautam since he would have been shooting a show on the same channel. He did say he is not a quitter and gave everything to this serial. I think he was not the only one fed up with the tracks, that is obvious from the recent interview of him and Jennifer.
