We have seen more than 300 episodes of Saraswatichandra. It has been quite a journey. The leads themselves said many a time that there have been ups and downs. But we love it.

I wanted to make a post on Highs n Lows for a long time. Hope you guys will contribute too.

The initial phase until wedding:

High: Because it was initial. We didnt have prejudices though there were conscious n constant comparisions with the novel n movie. We were waiting for this interpretation to unfold. We got grand sets, a loving family, a gentle, good-natured and sensitive Saras and a very sharp Kumud. Their scenes sizzled. We loved it. Each scene was crafted in detail. There was lot of emotional impact in each scene even if there was hardly any romance. I still see forum-wasis talking about them as 'those were the days'. There was a great and subtle depiction of pathos

Low: Some of the scenes were too dramatic, a little OTT. This is purely my opinion.

Pramad phase:

Low: first will mention the lows as they outnumber the highs. Kumud kept on taking domestic violence and in process sending a very wrong social message. Desais, who were strong and reasonable people suddenly became puppets with no voice. I think that was detrimental to the show. It still continues today.

It was too long. So long that we almost gave up. Every episode would come up with new stupidity like comparing Pramad with Krishna or doing Saras's shraadh.

High: Saras n Kumud scenes had the same emotional impact. The emotional impact was high and maintained throughout.

There was lot of activity in the forum!!!

The 'uneasy new beginning' phase:

Highs: This is my favorite phase though this is the phase where we all started disliking the treatment. Kumud and Saras gave full rights on themselves to the other but would not directly exercise it on the other. This phase had lot of beautiful dialogues and Saras-kumud scenes.

Lows: Inconsistencies in storyline creeped up. Got bigger n bigger. This phase brought in the kusum track towards its end. It was nauseating. And kalika too. The amount of screen space given to Kalika's angry ott looks could have been made to use another serial.

The (pre)-wedding phase:

Highs: Everyday brought in new romantic scenes. Not much to complain. We were as excited as the over-excited SAras. Arshi's bytes were titled 'Love bytes','Pyaar bytes','Battle of Ratnanagari bytes' etc. We even got a midnight rendezvous!!

And the wedding was the most beautiful.šŸ‘šŸ¼

Lows:

Kartar Singh and that horrifying Chandri act. Not just that, characters shifted from their original characterization. By now Ratnanagari became a town with autorickshaws and cars bustling on the roads that had medians. Not that I am against development of the village.

The post-wedding phase.

highs: the only high points were the valentines' day, holi and the fight between saras n danny. Because it brought out some superlative performances from Gautam and great expression of pain from Saras.

lows: The whole phase has been a total let down. Saras n Kumud behaved like strangers. Will not sit with each other, touch each other. Saras didnt have time to even look at kumud. The only thing happening was the nauseating guman-kabir track and omnipotent kabir creating havoc at will with others rendered helpless n spineless.

There were bloopers everywhere.

And last but not the least this kumud's kidnap track. If I can use one word to describe it, it would be 'painful'.

Note: This post is very subjective. Please post your own list of 'highs n lows'

WoW what a post,
That's the best summary I have seen of Saraswatichandra. At the end of the day though, the lows are becoming more compared to the highs. I hope the cvs read your post and get them to take stock of the sitution. As you said the two tracks (Pramad and current) which dealt with serious social problems have been wrongly dealt with so that instead of sending a good message they did the opposite.
Thanks for this post.

Great Post my dear:)

Every word of your is correct!

But Honestly I loved the Pramad track the most bcoz there we could see the real love of Saras & Kumud:)

Hmm..Kusum track was really annoying but we saw some romantic scenes also :)

Actually in my opinion.. after the Wedding the show and the characters have
lost their charm:(

I really miss SLBs direction and the old writer Uthkarsh Sir:(((

But a very very nice post;)

Same here, the way Saraswatichandra was treated in the beginning was with love in mind. now it is treated with TRP in mind.

Thanks for replying.

That was my attempt in increasing forum activity.

I do not know when the new team took over. But tthink the old team also had some role in diluting the show.

Shanthi ...

Great Post ... šŸ‘

Summing up the Journey of the Show over this long 300 Episodes period is such a Tough task

Really admire you for having done it soo well ... A Very Crisp and Effective outlining of the Highs and Lows of the Show indeed ... šŸ‘

As for me ... the First Phase of the Show is in a Completely differrent league ...

and there can not possibly be any Comparisons ...

Such Artistic Beauty ... Such Depth and Purity of Emotions ... Such a Cinematic and Visual Treat ... and such AMAZING Music ... šŸ‘

A Class Act ... under the Guidance of SLB himself ...

So i shall just consider myself Fortunate that we got to see such Great Creative work on the Small Screen ...

Once SLB left ... it was very Clear that this was going to be like any other TV Show ...

and i was watching it only for the Love of SAMUD without any Hopes of any Great Telly Experience

One could only hope that it would be slightly better than other run of the mill shows in terms of the Acting ... the treatment ... the Sets ... the Costumes ... Make -Up etc.

and i carry on watching the Show with the same approach ... 😊

It's now very much trp driven.
But that doesn't mean there should be bloopers. Like kumud talking to saras on phone and he telling that danny n kusum were so excited for sr. And it was broad daylight where kumud's auto was.
But at the same time, the same team has given some awesome scenes of saras(crying in front of kumud and lamenting with dugbaa).

Lovely and crisp, Santhi. 😊

As you say, even this team has produced some good scenes... The only explanation can be that they are taking us hard-core fans for granted - that come rain or sun or Total Bakwaas, we will still watch... Gadhe hain to lo khaas kha lo...šŸ˜‰

SC Writers are Mostly Resting (pun intended!) on borrowed laurels and banking on the popularity of lead actors among this "Gadha" segment! 😳

Sometimes on PH orders they just coast - like in this Unending Story of the Abominable Sunanda 😔

Mostly they try to formula-write for TRP audience or noddily and clue-lessly sleep-write without reference to the history of the show and characters...🤢 Objects broken resurface miraculously, Night turns into Day, Saras calls LN "papa"... and Kabir plods on like a mechanised toy with his goggles On/Off act...🄱

And very rarely they actually use their brains and produce a gem of a scene for people like us...
