Happy ji not so happy...😕 but friends consider these...
- Kumud is not 'forgiving'. She is deferring. She was capitulated under the force of a 'dying wish'. As late as today, she berated him, 'why did you not divorce?' A probable con by 'dying' was not her fault, when the claim stood supported by Hospital, doctors and above all, Saras.
- A person sentenced to death, when asked to speak out a wish, not overturning the verdict, is not said to have been 'forgiven'. Similarly, a deferment for a person condemned to death, may not be 'forgiven' per se.
- Inherent ugliness from such thoughtless 'tampering' with the story is bound to begat ugliness even in its retraction, spatially when it stands in direct conflict with intended course. No body is denying clumsiness therein. Especially deplorable are such excuses as 'Kusum's marriage'. This is going to get denser disgusting if or when Kumud would 'use' it to facilitate younger sister's 'life' wish...As for the outrage as a long standing viewer, would you realise dismay of the viewers who might have even remotely known about the characters sketch in source? Per se, divorce is not a stigma nor a widowhood crime this day. But that very 'subtlety' of character sketch in original would make them cringe at such distortions; "Kumud's Divorce in Saraswatichandra" indeed! Wish we know what would have been the reaction of Ivy's gentleman reader on such. In my home, Ma, a seasoned stalwart from KSBKBT days, when watched "Kumud's divorce" she cringed, "SLB is liable for some legal reprimands to expose a literary work to such extent". Pramad's death is an in built elimination in the book.
- And yet, Kumud is liable and exposed to much flake when they may 'resurrect' the monster from death bad. So much for a 'humanitarian' act! Now pay the prize...I can hear the thunderous retorts when her altruistic action will rebound on her. I will stand guilty as a dense viewer my friend.
Hello Smrth,
Regarding your point 4, they had better not show a 'resurrection' drama, because terminal LC is well...terminal as the name suggests. There's NO WAY a terminal patient is recovering without getting a liver transplant done. Also, when a patient is deemed terminal, it also means s/he may not survive the transplant operation itself to risk it. So if they go down that path, the viewers may stop watching/ it could also be a 'catch' to SaMud that the libertine has been faking all along. With these CVs, we may never know what's brewing in their heads🤢
Regarding point 1 &2, yes, she hasn't forgiven but the least she could do is admit to Saras that she's made a 'genuine' error in judgement for she's still unaware of the fact that Pramad has been manipulating Saras. Making Kumud cry like a child to assert her point, however crazy it may sound,(even after Saras quelling her reasons convincingly) is clear character maiming. The number of times she's said, you're my strength, don't leave me and Saras saying "I know our relationship is durable", I find these silly writing especially when they have reached that stage of their relationship where they don't have to keep making mundane one-liners to prove/assure themselves how secure their love is.
