I can't believe they are continuing with the physical abuse! I can't believe that Pramaad hurt Kumud's hand last night with the bangle and today morning, she was in front of him with a glass of lemonade! Where is the woman's self respect??? Tomorrow if she has a daughter, is THIS what she is going to teach her??!!

And now the spoiler about burning hands? This show has turned SICK now.

1. If cvs are changing the story for trp and will not follow the original then why are they using the name? if you are saying that a show is based on a book how can cvs change their mind midway change the story but keep the name?

What was the sad story of pramaad? A strict father is not a sad story I am sorry. He was born with a dilver spoon a normal family stable life

What good side has he ever shown? I did not see any sorry again

to get trp the show is glorifying putting up with abuse as heroism. It is incorrect

we may be 10% of viewers but we have an opinion and a voice and a forum to say it so we will put forward our feelings. It is our right as a customer to give our honest feedback

yes she should.
Doesn't matter if he's servant or relative. If the family is indebted to Murkdas then maybe hiding sth. like this would have made some sense.

What I meant in my post was honestly speaking nobody cares about feelings of a servant esp. in India where there is so much class difference. This is a fact even though most of us don't say it aloud. Again her reasons for keeping it a secret doesn't make sense.

First the non existent chemistry and the endless rumors of KSG being uncomfortabale has totally ruined it for me. So I can't even ship Samud. And nowadays the crap they're dishing out it's unbelievable. Now I hear Pramad's gonna burn her hand. So what's left? 😡

This show is utter crap hands down...

I have stopped watching SC for the similar reasons...how can they show a waoman going through physical and emotional torture, when on one hand we ( our society) wants women to be liberated and at par with men.

According to Star Plus, it is 'rishtha wohi, soch nayi'.
But the message they are giving out is about how a woman should never get out of an abusive marriage but instead should stay on and silently put up with the abuse while trying to change the husband... this is definitely not nayi soch but pathetic soch!!

This is Star Plus and their 'nayi soch.' Such backward stuff, its terrible. Don't know how people continue to watch Star Plus and make them the number 1 channel in India for entertainment.
It doesn't just happen in SaraswatiChandra, but I've seen other backward stuff in Saathiya too. Awful.

I'm usually a silent reader, but I thought I'd point out that this is not the first time SP has been unbelievably regressive. I know we are not supposed to mention other shows, but I will say that there was another very popular show where the male lead constantly manhandled and deeply insulted the female lead. What I found disturbing was that many girls on the forum found that "hawt" and considered that a sign of male confidence. That show was also popular in the UK.

It seems that the majority of the audience still thinks that a man is not a real "mard" if he is humble, emotionally sensitive, and not aggressive like Saras. Showing a strong willed woman like Kumud having power over such a man is even harder for them to digest, as shown by the TRPs. So SP decided to show an aggressive man controlling a passive woman.

It could be that Kumud is taking all this quietly as a way to punish herself for ever having loved Saras and not waiting for him. But whatever the reason, it's not right, and I hope that they show Kumud realizing how much of herself she is losing by putting up with all this. Many women, even ones who were like Kumud before marriage, go through years of such hell after marriage because of emotional manipulation from their own parents and in-laws. They stay quiet because they feel that they have no one to support them and nowhere to go if they walk out. Women are still conditioned to believe that they are asking for too much if they want to rebuild their life and actively pursue what (or who) makes them happy. Once they know they have unconditional support from someone, they regain some of that fire they once had.

Sorry for the long rant. Hope I didn't bore you all to death!😆

I am also amazed... the entire desai clan, dharmadikari khandaan, CV,PH SP...not a single soul has shown us the nayi soch...and suddenly there will be a huge twist somewhere around dusshera im guessing ( victory of good over evil ) and there will another drastic and sudden change in everybodys character ...there bingo nayi soch

How can you make such a comment that viewers in the UK enjoy women being beaten up? What's wrong with you? It is a fictional show which has taken its story from a novel, so its pretty obvious that the serial will follow the novel. And I'm pretty sure the show is not being dictated by the viewing figures in the UK, afterall it is a hindi serial and I'd think that the ratings in India are of far more importance to the makers of the show as opposed to the ratings in the UK. To be honest with you, most of the hindi serials tend to portray the female as passive and weak, most of these shows are very popular in India. Such shows are not a reflection of what UK citizens like to watch rather they are a reflection of india's ideology of the position of a woman in a regressive society.
