Making this post, a reply to brilliant Arshi's Crispybytes and discussions.
It makes better sense to me, when I separate pyaar from pyaar nibhana.
There is never any denial on Samud part to the fact that love transcends their being.There is mutual acceptance at their soul connect.
"Rishtey nibhana" : the crux of the story, as portrayed right from Kumud's first conversation with Saras ,as well her conclusion at the final phone conversation with him.
To expand more on this: I'm quoting ones I can recall:
Saras writing to her: "mein rishta nahi nibha paaunga"
Kumud: "Rishton se bhaag kar zindagi nahi jee sakte"
VC's life motto,being the contrary." mere liye zindagi ka matlab rishtey nibhana"
Guniyals's gentle cajole at Saras "kya tum is rishte ka naam doge?"
He ultimately failed them, he chose telephone this time. Kumud tried all she could, until he hung up.
Kumud didn't dispute his love, only his commitment to "rishtey nibhana".
Momentary lapse though it may seem to many, Saras faltered big time.
Would he acquire that capability and commitment ever? For life?
His second phase of the journey is about learning that, "pyaar nibhana"
Kumud and Pramad marrige started at same ground level, A complete disregard to the other person, while deciding to marry. Kumud took onus of responsibility for her decision to marry Pramad. I am not trying to debate the motive behind the decision to marry or sticking to it. I am appreciating her maturity at dealing with the consequences of her actions.
How far she can stretch herself? She is much more mature than just quitting at the first abuse. We surely will get to see Sherni Kumud.
Will Saras take responsibility for his action? His quitting and fleeing have not stopped.
His growth as a man, looking forward to that journey.
PS: To all GR fans, I'm equally a big fan of him. "Poor soul" All brickbats to LN please!!
