Humans make mistakes. Big and small. Saras and Kumud are flawed too. Which is fine. We have discussed here how things should have been or how could he/she have done this etc. Because, based on the projection of the character we saw so far, we feel they could have easily thought/acted in another way.

But the reality is, there is an innate nature of a human being, a trait or a set of traits that define him/her strongly and I am talking about negative traits. When things go out of hand or when there is lot of troubl/upheaval, they fall back to those traits. It is very true.

Like Saras fell back to 'me and my sorrow' and Kumud to 'me and my ego and he doesn't deserve me' lines. These traits are fall backs and are not easy to overcome. Doesn't mean they dont love each other. Doesnt mean too much. They just happen when there is adversity.

also the context...all of us knew whats gonna happen...we could see what happened at saras house...but in the context of the story...kumud had no way of knowing the background..she only had saras telecon to try and make sense of her situation. ..so of course she feels she has been ditched

No idea how Saras and Kumud saga will be back next week, when Kumud is married to another guy and new family entering now...

Everyone of us are entitled to take decision..make a choice. No two people will ever have exactly similar take on life or follow exactly similar trajectory. Hence to comment , whether Kumud is doing right or wrong, i would leave it to destiny.

Episode: fantastic depiction so far.. I'm actually happy at Kumud's decision on "no Rona dhona'.

USP of the show " Samud" , channel will bring them back quickly, story will maintain the pace until then.

just saw the epi...

my first reactions:

On Gautam & Jennifer:
- awesome episode...stupendous acting by jennifer and gautam...While the stage is that of great sadness, I continue to be blown away each day since this track started...with each new epi these two take the acting excellence to a level which is better than the previous epi..

- we wanted intensity and we are getting it in spades...I believe these two are like magnets...the further they are from each other story-wise, the more intense is their chemistry...I am only hoping their seperation track will keep it on sizzle in both their performances.

On Saras & Kumud:

- I have observed that there is a lot of heart-burn around why kumud is not 'understanding' enough...has been explained long enough but can't resist one more time...which is that
1) most importantly she does not know what has happened at saras - end
2) saras did not make himself clear when he called her up too.. (For e.g. he has not said he thinks LN indirectly killed his mom, about their fight, what was said etc.)
3) despite all her pleading saras said forget it and disconnected..
...so obviously she thinks she's been ditched again...
4) maybe she also remembers gumaan's words...that saras will never make you his wife..
5) worried about her family's plight, prestige...they will be a laughing stock..."Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me" types.
6) specially worried about her dad...and feels she will again be the cause of his shame..
7) what's there to live for anyway?...she died the moment saras disconnected..
- so can really emphathize with how she is behaving the way she is..
- Is she impulsive...yes...and justified ...also yes due to the above...specially because of #7.

- about VC...he is a father who is worried about his daughter, his other daughters, his family pride, his prestige earned over a lifetime...its more panic less ego...

- loved kumud...she is back!... no longer the simpering version 2.0, but full on version 1.0...I have always felt she is the tougher one and wears the pants in the relationship...and she demonstrated it how!

-mind - blowing scene the arthi thing...felt straight as if it was something out of Godfather...why? One, in Hindu tradition the women never do this puja. To do this is breaking a stereotype.
she does it on her own...Loved the guts part...
Two, and this is scary...the utter finality of her decision...she has burnt all bridges, all memories, all feelings..now I wonder if she will ever get back with him? Is SLB going to go the whole way as per the novel? No physical union and marriage, at the most a platonic relationship?... Biting nails ...but will worry about it some other day..

- also some philosophy...fantastic depiction of how most of us in life are always bounded by the choices we make ...and actually there is limited free will even in the choices we make (though we like to believe it is entirely free will)..

..its always a state of disequilibrium, a critical state, a fork and the new state of disequilibrium..most of us make decisions when our life / a situation is at a disequilibrium - which in turn arises out of multiple forces / factors / situations all converging on each other, on some of which we have control and on some we don't...the peak of the disequilibrium is a critical state when a decision is either made by us or forced on us due to the forces...but a choice / decision WILL be made since a critical state cannot exist for long..the pressure of the converging forces is too great...Also there are multiple forks / outcomes at the critical state...And once a particular choice / decision is made, the critical state collapses...but due to the choice / decision..you move along one particular path ONLY from the whole range of paths possible...NOW...most of the time once you move forward you can NEVER return back to the EXACT earlier critical state...it is gone forever...and you can only move closer to it or not at all...you are now bound by the new set of forces specific to the new path...this continues till you hit the next disequilibrium..and wash rinse & repeat...

..so here once the decision was made by saras and now by kumud...both have moved along their own paths...which have diverged...they will never be the same samud again..however strong their desire, remorse & effort...its like a fundamental law of nature...immovable and absolute...

- lastly in all this gloom...where is the hope?

I find solace and refer to this end scene from Shakespeare in Love.

This was deleted from the movie but available in the Blue - Ray version.
Someone had taken the effort to upload it on youtube and was still present in my bookmarks

I don't know how to do all the fancy picture additions in a post, but would highly recommend people to view it by following the link.

Love its powerful words and feel this is just apt for the situation, the future and for Kumud.

p.s. apologies for the long post...

Dekha, jab tak sc thanda tha, sab ke post thanda the! Discussions were bland.

Now look at the fire - on the screen, on the forum, in our words, discussions

Another wonderful post from you, can't you put the 7 points ( the bold text) as a separate post, a lot of people who are not seeing this will get Kumud's POV.

I feel that many viewers are not able to sit back, disconnect and think Saras only, and then think Kumud only, so the 7 points will help there.

Loved the latter part on limited free will and critical state, so true, I for one always believe that we are a sum of our choices, but yes, this was a mind opener !

For the last three days your posts have been mind blowing, but time constraints, and I have not been able to respond to them, but loving them

Considering we were used to seeing him in withdrawn/depressed state earlier, and given Vyas house scenario, Saras' state was less shocking.

Kumud has always been the spunky, in-your-face, positive person. (remember how she chased down Yash when he was in hiding after gau hatya?) So seeing her in this will-not-cry-come what-may state, calmly destroying all her prized momentous of their love was really weird, alarming and ominous.

I dont know what the future holds for these two. They are very similar in their thoughtlessness is all I can say. (ok, ok, Smrth, it's all Saras' doing, I know, 😔)

And VC is aiming for the seniors title in the same thoughtlessness league, on account of LN being henceforth an unmentionable pariah on this forum.

Shudder to think what coming days will bring. Best not to think ahead.

For the first time ever, wishing the acting was not so excellent (really!) it would be easier to follow my newly learned lesson of "this is not real life, so chill!"

So many mistakes, bad decisions, hotdoggs philosophy of limited choices fully in play here, can't blame any one, yet blame them all, Saras for his initial rashness, VC for his rashness now, Kumud for losing faith so quickly and easily, that fact is happychappy, it mirrors real life, only on a larger scale,
What a torturous experience it's proving to be!

That's what life is, right or wrong is never clearly laid out, we chose what we feel is right at the moment, and then tread the chosen path, baki rab rakha!

Karmanye wa adhikar aste, ma phaleshu kada chana!

Kumud has chosen the path of doing her own antim Sanskar in her own vivah mandap, to keep her fathers maryada,

Marriage to another man is like death for her

Good or bad time will tell! She has chosen her karma

I am slightly disappointed in Dukhba.. Expected more strong reactions from her. the way she reacted when the truth of the rejection was out.. ''Kumud par koi aanch aye tau mein ambey ma se bhi lad jaungi'' and now when Kumud's whole world crushed before her eyes, she was only left shedding tears and consoling Guniyal and Kumud..? where is the firebrand Dukhba? I would have loved if she insisted on calling LN herself and gave him an earful.. where is the rage in Dukhba? Is all that reserved for Saras when he shows up? let down so far...
