Yes i agree it may not be discovered as of yet
but honestly the person who taught him to laugh and accept himself
Yes his mums death would shake the ground under your feet
but how can you compromise one love for another
On this ground im saying it was weak, because purity within love would not allow others wrong doings impact your affections or your decisions

The thing here is we, viewers have seen what Saras went through, but Kumud doesn't. So how can we expect her not to react to this? She would be shattered and this time it could be worse than the previous time

I've read the novel, and trust me when you see her finding out the real truth later on in the story, you will see her feel Saras' pain. Kumud is going to be hurt initially and shattered, and when Saras comes in front of her eyes again...the love will come back, but hold her back cause of what he did to 'them'...but it's gonna be displayed in a beautiful manner I'm sure! :)

I think both of them are also victim of circumstances.

Obviously Saras is in no frame of mind to get married. I know that folks are angry that he didn't open up to her - his soulmate; rather he shut her out. But the trauma of reliving the suicide of your mother is first a personal battle. He would have turned to her for comfort in due course when he could muster the courage live in the moment. He is now too lost in the past - in a whirlpool of sorrow.
A few days more to recover and things could have turned out otherwise.

But as fate would have it, the wedding is 2 days away.

I now understand why Kumud agrees to marry Pramad; She doesn't really agree - she will be in a state of shock- lifeless and turned into stone; the world outside a blur

Painful Painful!

We look forward to a brighter day...

Azu...
You know I always said after reading the book I always thought that Saras was very weak...And extra sensitive on leaving the house and Kumud on the simple saying of his father as to have used the money that was not rightfully his...
but in here...LN not only reprimanded him for the deal, but also blamed his mother, sided Goooman who Saras has just come to know how his father is...responsible for his mother's death, having an affair with other woman and broke his mother's death so inrevertibly that she was dead even before she committed suicide, whose love for her son could not heal or survive that heart break..so fatal it was...
And that was the reason why he was always so afraid of relations...at the back of his mind, he must have realized this, but to see his mother's letter...actually jolted him into reality...the fear that was eating him inside, which Kumud actually hid with her love, now came ripping apart...

And I think the main thing would be LN saying that Kumud was his choice and came into life because of him...that VC would never have given his consent had Saras not been HIS son...I think that would reign supreme in his mind...the acute wish to dissociate with anything that bound him to LN would be supreme...
And Saras is impulsive...The same impulse which made him come to Ratnanagri, the same impulse which made him take the blame of Gauhatya on himself and the same impulse which made him punch the day lights out of the goons who made fun of Goooman...

His attachment runs as deep as his detachment..and is the complexity of this man...
He is weak, yet strong...he is deep yet his decisions are shallow, he cares yet his actions hurts...his instinct to protect actually makes people he wants to protect, more vulnerable...

My point exactly... u don't just go ahead and breakup with a girl u love just because u had a falling out with ur father.. even if u're not ready for the marriage u could talk to the parents and try to push the date back, but calling off the wedding is so not an answer... exactly what ln did to dugba

@ bold, yes...exactly!
What I feel is, we know what happened with Saras, but Kumud doesn't, so she would conclude thinking that that's how much he loved her, dumping her after all the preparations! She will be dishonored by the society and she even have done the PMS thingy!

Welll..If they really follow the book to a T, that cant be so...but what you say is quite possible as they have slightly distorted the character of Kumud in here...In there she was the silent and strong one...in here they have made her a bit haughty and hot headed!! Her pride might be hurt more than her heart and that might need some time...Just as she took time to understand his old wounds, hopefully Sunny would come to rescue...to make her understand what transpired and why Saras took a decision..
Right now I am waiting for Danny and Kusum to elope to have a one big kick on the face of Goooman...cant wait for that moment.//
