I always thought Sanjay leela bhansali will have some thing different to offer. He did that, the cast was fresh, so was the location, sets, and the camera angles too were not type casted. The start was pathbreaking in some senses.
The story was also a literary masterpiece plot.
But off late I feel it's getting commercialised. I am liking the segment though, the mills and boons kind. It's refreshing.
But the larger question is isn't it following the flavour all over on the Serial world in Indian TV. Isn't Madhu Bala, Sapne Suhane ladakpan ke, iss par ko kya Naam doon, bade ache lagte hain, Punar vivah, Pyar ka dard hai, some how all showed first a rivalry/ difference of opinion/ a forced relation, and then hero or heroine gradually coming together.
I feel the story buildup is one thing, following the trend for commercial gain is something else. First Saras and Kumud were poles apart, then they were coming together, again now they are separating, then agin they will come together. I understand the relationship needs to go through circumstances to really grow and mature, but aren't the situations in most of the serial the same.
Earlier it was time of saas bahu serials, now it had turned to love hate relations!
But with Saraswati Chandra novel in back drop, I was expecting more deeper conversations! More deeper in meaning! May be I was expecting much deeper work from Sanjay leela bhansali!
