I am in awe of the script and screenplay of this show.. They come up with amazingly unusual and unique scenes to depict the love between Saras and Kumud which too is unusual and unique in every sense..!!! The mirror scene- take a bow team SC for the thought gone behind writing this particular scene.. I doubt they have picked it from the original work ..If it has been, then kudos to the writer..!!!

coming to the scene, Kumud lifts the heavy antique mirror from the wall in her room and carries it when suddenly Saras appears infront of her.. How beautiul was the moment when she is standing with the mirror in her hand facing him such that his reflection falls on the mirror.. Note the relative position of the two ..Kumud is angling the mirror in his direction, glancing at him and his reflection , showing Saras his true self.. This is you .. look up..look at yourself..I could almost hear her saying those words through her body language.. This is the girl who will introduce the real Saras to himself.. is he ready? Not yet..! He hesitates looking up at himself in the mirror.. he feels exposed..there's vulnerability written all over his face... the mirror reflected his conflict, confusion and his deep down feelings for Kumud.. He stood there, averting his gaze from himself and Kumud who stood right infront of him showing him the mirror.. !!

The best thing about this show is that nothing is served on a platter.. none of the messages are out there for you to grab.. everything has a latent meaning..there's a lot of thought behind the scenes.. All the emotions are garbed and indirect...reasonings and logics get tested.. that is something I enjoy about this show..!!!

That royal pout too! Don't forget Saras' cute pout. 😳

You already said this but I will just say, it reminded me of this song - Kumud telling Saras: Meri anke se dekho zara, you are worthy.

^^One of the things that I LOVE about this show- even the most simplest lines can struck to you hours later and other times silence provokes symbolism in a way that speaks volumes!!!! It is not as simple as it seems!!!

I had the following thoughts in the mirror scene :

1. She's holding up a mirror to him - to take a good look at himself, and realize his true worth

2. Reflection on two faces of Saras, one the real him, and second the image he is putting up

3. She will wait for him to share her burden, he will step back, but after she walks away, he will

Come and complete her responsibilities

Over symbolism? Maybe, but all these 3 thoughts came to my mind in he mirror scene

And then Rajma scene - kusum stepping in after Saras rejects Kumud?

Could totally see this happening! Kumud marrying and leaving them a son in her place.

Agree with the symbolisms there.. the mirror scene was Kumud showing Saras his real self... His expressions were very good- scared, hesitant and nervous as if someone is caught red handed..well he has been hiding from himself..Kumud made him face himself..I loved the pained expression he gave when he held the drawing in his hand.. the one Kumud had made.. His expressions at that point were literally screaming, '' dont love me so much... I am not worth it..'' About the Rajma scene, well since we know what happens in the original novel so those things struck harder than they are meant to be..my opinion.. He just had to keep Kumud at bay..so Kusum didnt really matter at that point...he would have accepted the glass of water from anyone other than Kumud.. my pov..

True, That will come much later and right now there is no build up to kusum and Saras, just that we know this what happens later, so it stuck out

But he was too harsh in yesterday's epi, sudden volte face and it bothered me

Besides showing Saras his own reality in the mirror, I think Kumud was also trying to understand his feelings while she looked at him through the mirror as she was wondering what his words meant last night and was hoping for him to complete his conversation. She knows that he won't voice his feelings and what he said last night was only what she can get! Only if mirror displayed more than just the apperances because obviously like you said, Saras is putting up a fake front here as opposed to the mirror scene in the room where he stood holding on to his shirt with Kumud's hand prints on it! Beautiful scene!!!!

Its natural to feel that way and I think the creatives purposefully forced Kusum in that scene.. It could have been anyone.. even Chandrika was serving.. But it was Kusum who served Rajma and water.. I don't know if its because we know what happens in the novel, or the scenes are such, but I have always felt uncomfortable when Saras and Kusum are in one frame.. Likewise , jijaji sounds more convincing when Kumuri says it...not Kusum..

I didnt feel bad when Saras avoided helping her with the mirror or later in the room..but in the kitchen scene I did feel bad for her because he was being mean to her.. Now eating Kumud's rajma may also make him fall in love with Kumud..LOL I say just lock these two up in a room and throw the key in the well.. 😆
