What an awesome post... you have made very valid points I must say for me the things that make this show tick is the

1) The leads- Saras and Kumud's characters and chemistry. Its not just a love story it is much more than that.

2) The layers of each character they have been carved like a perfect diamond. Each character has a strong role which we will get to see progress in the future.

3) The storyline...no matter how good the actors are and how popular they are if the storyline is wack it isn't going to grip the audience. SLB has done a superb job making each and every episode with such delicacy.

In my life I have never seen a show as good as this! I am super hooked and I hope I will be in the future!

both the leads fit so well..one is strong headed and himmatwali and the other is patient and shaant..but both r ziddi! and i am loving this combination!
