The male leads real name is only Chandra, but he adds Saraswathi as a mark of respect to his late mother.

And we love a good romance at the end of the day, hai na? Now I can't comment about operas, for I am absolutely clueless about them except they take pride in shrieking at the top of their voice. And everything else goes over my head

Also, what is both the leads throwing themselves in the water any chance they get? Not that I am complaining. Although, the lake surrounded by lush greenery could not possibly have been located at Dubai. 😆

Oh and man, grumpy dad's suit was so shiny, it almost blinded me.

Since no one even smelt my CC in the new casa, here it is changes in the plot...

The maestro filmmaker of Bollywood, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, is all set for his first television show Saraswatichandra on STAR Plus. Heart throb of many a girls, the show has the dashing Gautam Rode in the lead along with the drool-worthy and gorgeous Jennifer Winget.

At the recently concluded official press conference, Sanjay Leela Bhansali shared his excitement and experience at making his television debut soap. He said, "It is a wonderful experience because we are actually able to create such a big scale and grand TV show. The creative team and the cinematographers have done on TV what is done in cinema. To realise that it is possible, maintaining the requirements of TV as a medium, which is basically a close-up medium, I think I learnt a lot. I am surely excited."

The story is an adaptation of a famous Gujarati novel 'Saraswatichandra'. According to the ace director, the story has been altered in order to suit the medium while keeping the basic value of the novel as it is. Sanjay Leela Bhansali's films are known for their grandeur and larger-than-life directions, which we will be seeing on the small screen as well.

A very special guest also braced the occasion, Rani Mukherjee. "He is a good friend and I will always be there for him. He is my favourite director. This is his debut on television and I am here to give him my best wishes."

Starring Gautam Rode and Jennifer Winget in the lead, the show have larger-than-life sets just like Bhansali's movies. A sneak-peek of the sets left everyone mesmerized.

So don't miss out to watch Saraswatichandra, starting 25th Feb, Monday-Friday at 7.30 PM only on STAR Plus.

i recognized his work in Padmavathi from the grandeur of the settings and the vibrant use of color which he does here also

no probs i shared coz i am watching to see the way he shows such nuances in the scenes. i had to analyse such nuances and styles in english movies which is very hard to find... so when i watch indian movies, these nuances and styles are very easy to recognise. Like Devdas climax scene had the staircase too. Karan Johar's movie always has the bench during important conversations. Such props highlight the director's vision. I am clueless about Padmavathi...i only watched from Khaamosh. Just love his work...and my favourite movie till date is Guzaarish...practically loved the whole story concept!! :-)

I do like GR and looking forward to this SLB version of Saraswatichandra..

Hopefully SLB team will do justice to this epic saga keeping in mind the demand of modern time...although he has specifically mentioned that he is very muchh willing to modify according to the TRP audeince but also I sincerely hope that he dosnt keep them too much in mind as sometimes giving in to much of audience's demand can completely break the essence of a show...but then "after all TRP can make or break a show"..I know 'I know I am mumbling ..

I have always been a great admirer of SLB's sets...so really looking forward to be awed by it here as well...
