Daksh has a confrontation with Mr. Joshi whom, he tells that his daughter is a liar and a unscrupulous girl, and he does not even want to associate with her, or even look at her face. It goes without saying, that he definitely is not going to marry her. Joshi gets insulted, and the rest of Daksh's family is lost for explanation, and when Rohini tries to butt in, he tells her to back off. Daksh walks off, and then the Joshi family leaves in a huff.
In the Joshi residence, Sonakshi creates a pandemonium, when she slits her wrist, a doctor is called, Joshi is upset and has to force open the closed door, where Sonakshi lies on the floor bleeding. Supriya tries to find how she can get in touch with Naina, and is in search of the room and finally finds a visiting card of Naina. She calls her office, and is told that Naina has left town. She calls Rohini, and one wonders, what she might have told her, but she might have said something which might have led to the right answer.
Vibha and her husband and daughter in law, come to convince Daksh, but he tells them that when they wanted to tell them, every opportunity was turned down, and that Sonakshi succeeded in keeping the truth away from them. Daksh says, that they should forget about her, and they need not search others, as he can not love anyone else, other than Naina. Rohini tries to ingratiate herself, and persists in telling her in laws, that all the problems are because they trusted an outsider, and Vibha tries to dig deep into her mind, if that could have been the reason. Wonder if she is able to reason out things. The father too, has abdicated his reasoning powers, and yielded to the flow of events, unable to prevent the machinations of others, which have escaped his notice.
In Darjeeling, Anjali is showing photographs to Naina, and tells her that she should get out of her depression. She remarks that when one is happy, we laugh out our joy, and when we are sad, we bury it in our thoughts. Anjali feels that it is better to cry out, and let off all the pent up steam, to reduce the pressure that builds within.
Daksh and Akruti has a moment for themselves, and she tells him, that she is afraid to get married, and it would have been nice, if Naina was here. Daksh persuades her, with his lawyer talk, and she too does the same to him, by pointing out that his love for Naina is obvious, and he should not let her go now, even though she has left town. He should go in search of her.
In the pre-cap: Anjali is at the door, and looks at a lady who has come to meet them. She looks at her, and it is Supriya, and both tensely look at each other

Naina has taken up the wedding plans of one Usha aunty, a friend of her mother Anjali. As she talks to her, she remembers what she said to Daksh, regarding their, wedding plans, and decides to call him, and then as an after thought decides against it.
Daksh too is pondering over the conversation he had with Akruti, and also his own promises to Naina, and then decides to call her, but the operator on the other end, speaks in Bengali, and he concludes that she is in Darjeeling, and decides to go and meet her. He leaves a note on the dressing table on his mother, in the night, and leaves early in the morning, but before doing so, tells Akruti of his plans.
Supriya sees her daughter Sonakshi, who had cut her wrist, and feels she has to meet Naina, and tells the maid, that she should take care of her daughter, and tell her husband if he asks, that she will be away on some work, for some days. If he asks where she has gone, to tell him, that she does not know, as she will explain to him, when she comes back.
In the next scene, Supriya is in front of Anjali, and they exchange some unpleasant words, but as she prepares to leave, the maid comes and places a large photograph of Diwakar, but Supriya has already left the room. On the way back, she decides to go back, and meet Naina and arrives at the gate, where Naina is discussing wedding plans with her Usha Aunty. Seeing Supriya, she stops the phone, and tells the lady, that she will call later, and attends to Supriya, who wishes to talk to her. She wants her to come into the house, and when she takes her in, Anjali is annoyed, and again when she tells her that Naina has nothing to say to her, Naina asks her mother to listen to what she has to say, and Supriya tells her that her daughter tried to commit suicide. Anjali tells her, "Then, take care of your own daughter. Naina las left everything behind and come here, and I am not prepared her to be roughed up, here too." When Supriya starts to reply, she turns to Naina, and at this moment, her eyes fall on the photograph of Diwakar, and she is speechless. Obviously, Anjali had not met her before, but knew the name only from her husband, and Supriya had not known that Naina was the girl, she had given birth to. We are left in suspense.
In the morning, the Patwardhans are busy buying sarees, and notice that Daksh is not at home. When Vibha gees to call him, Akruti senses, that she has not read his letter. Searching for her son, all over the house, she goes to her bed room, and finds the letter, reads it, and is shocked. Rohini is trying to get in touch with Sonakshi, but gets no reply. Then she starts her crude talk about the 'stranger' Naina, and tells her mother than all problems in their family are due to her shadow following on their perfect family. The mother, tries to pacify her and promises to go to see Sonakshi.

Naina is being advised by her mother, to forget the past and start a new life. Supriya arrives in the house, and at first Anjali brusquely tells her to care for her own daughter, who tried to commit suicide, and her mother blamed it on Naina. When Anjali is hard on her, she turns her head towards Naina, and at that moment her gaze falls on the framed photo of Naina's father, and Supriya is transfixed and just stares. Anjali, takes Naina by the hand, and takes her in, and Supriya wonders if Naina is the child whom she brought into this world and gave to Diwakar. She leaves in a sad mood.
In the Patwardan house all are upset, to see Vibha brooding with a letter. As they come to know the contents, they try to figure out what reason might have taken Daksh away from home. Rohini whines and insinuates that he has gone after Naina, and then Kaka comes in, and turns the tables on Rohini, as he tells his sister in law, that it was good Sonakshi did not become the daughter in law of this house. He points his fore finger to his head, and says, "She is screw loose." He also commiserates on his brother, who has one mad son with a mad wife, and the other too would have gone mad with a mad woman like Sonakshi. As he walks off, they ignore his barbs, and continue discussing, and the father says, that it is not fair to blame Naina for everything. He could have gone on some work, but on trying his number, the message comes that the number does not exist.
In Joshi's house he is upset at the state in which he finds his daughter and is angry with his wife for leaving her in this state. Just then he gets a call from Rohini, and Joshi picks it and gives her an ear-full, and tells her not to call his house again. He warns of dire consequences to their family if things go wrong with Sonakshi. Rohini persuades her mother in law, who claims that she took Sonakshi as a daughter and loved her as such. Is she a weather-cock, who falls in love with girls, embraces them as if they are her daughters, who lavish their savings on her, and then turns against them without much thinking - but that is how she has been made.
Back in Darjeeling, Supriya is wandering out of the Bardhwaj house, and sits on a cement bench, and the past comes into her mind, as now she remembers what Sonakshi told her that Naina's marriage fell apart, as they came to know that she was an illegitimate child. She also recollects how she came to Darjeeling, met Diwakar, and tripped and brought forth a beautiful girl, whom she handed over to Diwakar, as she was not in a position to look after her, as she was to get married. As she wonders about what a mess she has done, and now after all these years, her actions of youth are coming to haunt her. Naina is in the house, and when Anjali speaks ill of Supriya she can not stomach it, and tells her mother, that she may have other things to say, but Anjali does not want to entertain any thoughts about Supriya.
In the precap: Supriya is being eaten up by remorse, and Naina walks over to her, and puts her hand on her shoulder and asks her, "What is bothering you?" Supriya just bursts into tears and embraces Naina, and then is taken in by her own child to meet Anjali, where she tells her true identity, and this stunns Anjali, as she sees a weeping Supriya, telling her who she actually is.

Supriya is thinking about how things have turned out in her life, and then Naina comes in search of her, and finds her sitting on a cement bench in the park. After emotional exchanges, Naina comes to know that she is her birth-mother, but can not believe it, and says, it must be untrue, and walks away. At home, Anjali is still waiting for Naina and when she is worried, Supriya comes hurriedly, thinking she might be at home. Here too after emotional exchanges, the truth comes out, and Anjali and Supriya go in search of their daughter and find her crying in the park, sitting on the same bench, where her mother was crying before. They find she has high fever, and bring her home and call for a doctor, who gives her the treatment, and the two mothers, take care of the daughter. Anjali is distraught and takes over from Supriya when, the former had gone out to speak to the doctor. When Anjali bursts out in tears, asking forgiveness of Naina, for the bad treatment she meted out to her, for which she left home, and had to go through so much humiliation. She goes aside and cries, and Supriya places a comforting hand on her shoulder, and they seem to send some vibes of understanding.
At home Vibha finds that her husband is not getting sleep, and he tells her that he is worried about Daksh, and the mother sees the fault in her son, and blames him, from breaking his promise to her, and the focus is in giving herself, a clean chit, and then she decides to go to Sonakshi, to make up to her. But the girl is not in a mood to listen to her, and finally, the mother gives her a promise, that she will see that her son will keep his promise. Again, this is a self centered logic, which Sonakshi has learnt to make use of. After Vibha leaves, Sonakshi is out on her investigation, to find out the whereabouts of Daksh. She calls his office and gives them an ultimatum, and her justification is that she is "his betrothed" woman.
Back in Darjeeling, Naina is still having a bout of high fever, and care is taken of her by the two mothers.
Daksh is nowhere in the picture, and no one has an idea where he is whether at home, or in Darjeeling where they do not even know if he exists.
In the precap, we are shown Ayush, who has come over to the Patwardhan house and breaks the news that he can not get married to Akruti. Possibly, he has fallen foul with Sonakshi.

Anjali and Supriya are talking about what had happened. Supriya admits that she was in love with Diwakar, but she did not know, how she slipped and had the baby. Her parents did not force her to abort the baby, but put pressure on her to get married, and she knew her future husband would not accept this child, so she had to give the responsibility to Diwakar. She lived ever since, with guilt and sorrow. Anjali tells her how she too used Naina as a way to get at her husband, and in this, both of them failed this poor child, who lived these twenty years, not knowing who her real mother was, and her pain, no one could fathom, neither her husband nor the two of them.
Sonakshi tries to get in touch with her mother, and does not get any response, and is angry with her. She calls Ayush and sets up her terms.
At home Akruti is unhappy, and her parents and the family are all excited about the coming wedding. The guests have come, and Kaka, tells his wife, to keep extra sweets in tins, so that he can return them to the vendor. They see the mother and father of Ayush, arrive and while they are entertaining them, we see Ayush entering the house. He does not take any notice of his parents, while they are looking on at him. In this unnatural setting, Ayush tells them that he has found some bad news about their family, and so he can not go through this marriage. Everyone is dumbstruck.
Naina is just coming back to consciousness, and calls for her mother, and Supriya who is still awake, rushes to her bedside, but Naina is in a daze, and then Anjali wakes up, and hears her voice and rushes and holds her hand. They embrace, and Supriya goes to one side, and cries. Anjali puts Naina back to sleep, and looks back at Anjali, and appears concerned.
