Your story is both good and original; but the part that is good is not original, and the part that is original is not good ' Samuel Johnson.
Hospitals in Bhopal are like any other; monuments to an assembly of stories about life: startings, endings and punctuations, each with its own parable - but those vignettes on life are for another day. SKBM phankas care about the ending of only one story, one that had a great beginning but now seems to be punctuated by a series of unsatisfactory messes...the fairytale of Prince Lamba Achamba and his Pachmarhi princess.

At the hospital, people waiting in the hallways view the Daily Sansani broadcasts. The news hostess tells the viewers that the electorate considers BBP akin to the Sun and they are praying and performing yagnas at religious places in the hope that their Sun does not set. Many are thronging the entrance to the hospital. The Sansani shows people marching in rallies shouting out slogans in support of BBP.In a hospital room, Shuklaji applauds as BBP plays ikk-pyaala-golf-ka đ. BBP asks Shukla if his near and dear ones would also wish him well or would it only be the electorate masses? Shukla happily and obsequiously starts yelling out some election naaras praising BBP đ. BBP asks Shukla to listen to the cries of "zindabad" - they were much sweeter than Puja's singing. He then tells Shukla that he was bored inside the room and it was time to leave. Shukla asks him when would it be appropriate to get BBP discharged - before or after the elections? BBP tells him that the elections would be the next day and the votes would be counted the day after. On Election Day, the media would be informed that BBP's health was improving.
At the haveli, Giridhar and Rangoli sit in her boudoir watching a telecast of the Sansani. Gridhar looks on broodingly while Rangoli smirks at the news that BBP's "condition" has improved. A white lab coated doctor tells the media that when BBP gained consciousness, his first thoughts had been of gratitude that his electorate's prayers had been answered; he was now indebted to them. The newscaster tells its audience that only a little time was left till the elections and people felt energized. Rangoli openly voices her admiration for BBP's strategy of invoking the electorate's emotions. Giridhar cautions his (subdued) psycho cousin that she should be careful - the same person who she was praising today could be the bane of her existence after the elections were over. Rangoli responds that she was only waiting for the elections to get over. The news goes on to relay that Puja's condition was deteriorating and BBP was more worried about Puja than his own health. Giridhar looks worried and Rangoli looks thoughtful.
The Tiwaris, Bhavana and Krish peer through a door port at Puja. A doctor comes out to tell the Tiwaris that everything possible through medical science had been done, the rest was in the hands of god. The Tiwaris look at each other and Harivansh looks on blankly (like us viewers) as the lamp in front of the Mahadev shrine in the hospital hallway dies out đ˛.
The Daily Sansani continues to telecast the elections. It shows that the people of MP are thronging to the poll booths to lead BBP to a clear victory. A reporter near a polling booth interviews people who are expressing their support for BBP.
Back at the hospital, BBP walks down the hallway towards Puja's ICU room and looks in through the door portal, his arm in a sling cast. Inside, Arti asks a nurse if there was any improvement in Puja's condition and is told there was none. Outside the door, BBP makes evil/cruel eyes, turns away and mentally wishes Puja-ji goodbye . He turns a corner and pretends to limp past a seated Bhavana and Krish. He gives Bhavna a small nod and walks towards the senior Tiwaris. He comes to Harivansh and addressing him as "babuji" says that every effort was being made to save Puja. While he was winning an election publicly, he knew they were losing privately. In a grief struck voice he asks god to give them and him strength. Behind him Krish springs to his feet, Harivansh looks blankly at the floor, while Sumitra grips her chair tightly and gulps in grief as BBP limps away.
Inside the ICU room, Puja lies unconscious as Arti tends to her. Arti suddenly notices that one of the monitors is showing some dense squiggles. She panics and calls a nurse who comes running, takes a look at the monitor and goes out running. Arti yells for a doctor. The senior Tiwaris hear Arti's calls for help and run in panicking. Sumitra starts holding Puja while Harivansh stands in a corner, looking on haplessly as he usually does.
BBP (still limping and arm in cast) is escorted by Govind Shankar (GS) and his constables to the hospital door where a group of supporters cheers for him loudly and the media takes pictures of him.
Meanwhile, in the ICU room, the Tiwaris (OMG Harivansh too đ) yell for a doctor. Harivansh folds his hands in prayer. Arti runs down the hospital hallways yelling for a doctor. Krish joins her in the yelling and running. A doctor and nurse come to Puja's ICU room. The doctor starts to fiddle with the machines. The squiggle monitor shows flat lines. The doctor mumbles something about low blood pressure and then gets the nurse to herd the Tiwari entourage out of the room.
At the haveli, there is a gathering of people which includes Giridhar and the Judge. There is a sherwani clad bespectacled man of some prominence. Loud drums announce the arrival of a victorious BBP He is being garlanded and felicitated by people. The bespectacled man congratulates and garlands BBPP, who thanks him and addresses him as Bhavna's father, thanking him for her support. He is met by a radiant Rangoli who congratulates and hugs him. Under his breath, he sardonically thanks Rangoli for the hug, even if it is just a show for the audience. Rangoli assures him that unlike Puja, she would not latch on to his neck (hmm, is she hinting at an open marriage?đ). BBP rolls his eyes at her. Rangoli pops a bottle of bubbly. BBP holds forth with a glass of bubbly in his hand and loudly announces that success should be such - an outstanding one - otherwise defeat was better. He hold up his long stemmed glass of bubbly and announces it as manna from the nine planets because all the planets were happy at the Rashtriya Janawadi party. A person in the gathering says that seeing BBP's political prowess and cunning, his opponents were now setting up paan shops.
Meanwhile at the hospital doctors are applying electric paddles (anywhere and everywhere) on Puja's supine body but the monitors continue to show flat lines. The doctor comes out and tells the Tiwaris that he had done everything possible. When Arti is unable to comprehend, the doctor asks the others to take care of Arti. The senior Tiwaris collapse. Arti is disturbed, Krish telepathically understands the unsaid (I certainly didn'tđ) as he sees Puja lying inanimate. He tries to console Arti. Bhavna calls BBP on his cellphone.
BBP excuses himself from the gathering at the haveli to attend Bhavna's call as Rangoli looks on suspiciously. As BBP leaves to take the call, GS comes to Rangoli with a basket of flowers. At the most happening place in the haveli, yet another haveli pillar, BBP hears Bhavna saying that Puja is no more. As Bhavna sobs on the phone, BBP tells her to control herself, after all he should be the one in grief. Moreover, Bhavna's father was laughing loudly at the gathering and it did not look nice that she was crying. He asks her to join the party and also asks her to congratulate him on his victory. Bhavna cuts the call.
GS looks around another haveli pillar, smirking at the new CM. He has brought a new guest who wishes to felicitate BBP. It is the auto mechanic who had lied on the court stand. They show him (in another flashback) being approached and bribed by Shuklaji who seems to have bought his court testimony. BBP nods at the mechanic and GS. The frame freezes on BBP and Arti's countenance with Puja in the center.
Precap: The Three Tiwaris are praying at the Mahadev shrine, asking the deity how he could take Puja away from them. Arti hears someone loudly asking to talk with BBP. She goes towards the door from where she can hear the voice, it is the doctor (the one who had denied Puja's pregnancy) saying that BBP should contact him immediately after the party. Arti stands at the doorway to the doctor's office scowling and gritting her teeth.
Comment: Generally bearable, happening episode...but I have no clue what actually was happening!
Readers, it has been a pleasure doing these updates. As many of you know this might possibly be my last one (unless SKBM 𤢠lasts beyond another 10-12 weeks). I will join in the discussions till Monday before I voyage in the real world. I will come and check things out when I am able...but otherwise....So long and thanks for all the fish!!
