Ok so I am thinking of something, don't they sign a marriage contract for marriage?? And once you sign it THEN you are officially married, whether you take the saat phere or not because government doesn't care for 7 rounds they care for contracts and stuff.

So the thing comes down to that between Gunjan and Maayank, the marriage was PURELY Maayank's fault. If he signed the contract BEFORE the rounds then he was official married to Charu, so whether or not Gunjan took saat phere with him meant nothing. Legally he was Chaaru husband before Gunjan sent Chaaru in her place.

And if he signed it AFTER the 7 rounds then still his fault because he didn't have to sign it legally if he didn't want to marry Chaaru. He also had the excuse of her being a liar too so he could have refused.
And we know he didn't sign anything while Chaaru was hidden underneath the veil because we saw it with our own eyes he didn't sign anything.

So honestly it wasnt Gunjans fault at all. Yea she shouldn't have made Chaaru go in place of her but she
is totally not legally responsible for Maayank and Chaaru wedding.

O yeah ur talking about marriage registration :P
Yes, I assume they are legally married otherwise there was no need for divorce & the lawyer said that they have to be married for 6 months in order to proceed with the divorce & its not been 6 months so they are legally married.

But Yes, in India there are diverse cultures & if a couple is married with Hindu rituals & there are witness & proofs & if its done with complete rituals then even that is considered a legal marriage in India I suppose. But yeah you need to have witness & proofs like Photos, Videos of the wedding etc in order to legalise the wedding. In India it is IMO, don't know about actor countries.

Nice Topic :D

yes pakka .. a photo/video and some witnesses are enough or a nikaah naama. mayank can get the marriage annulled but he cant get divorced straight away. I think u need to wait for 6 months to apply for divorce then you are told to give the marriage another chance and even then 1 partner wants divorce the court proceedings start..I have not seen many people contest for divorce its usually mutual.. if the divorce reached court Charu would have been thrown out of the house in hours after what dide did to Rachna..

As per the law as it stands our legal system does not allow divorce to be granted on the ground of irretrievable breakdown of marriage or irreconcilable differences.(Known as no fault grounds). That s the reason he never applied for divorce till the holi incident..
