I always feel that rachna has been dependent on someone or the other, right now it is gunjan after marraige will be her husband(don't who he is currently). I want to see an independent rachna who has her own mind and the ability to voice it.

ya she is always dependent coz she has grown up in those circumstances in which everyone is being dominated by elders... she must have to learn something from engagement day with big shock treatment...

yes, even i felt the same. In the few initial episodes she was too much dependent on her mom, dolu and chhaya.
Now on gunjan.

It is the same with Mayank. Both cannot make independent decission because, elders call the shot. Both can't judge people because, they are sarrounded people who love them and protect them. Both characters will grow only when they are exposed to harsh realities of the world. Mayank on the day of his marriage, realised for the first time; people whom you trust the most can betray you. Rachna would face it on her engagement day. This is the first turn of events in their life. Second stage of growing up would be owning up responsibility for their mistakes. It would not come over night. (Mayank still likes to blame Gunjan conviniently forgetting his share of faults). It would take sometime for the wounds to heel and a person to look back dispassionately at the events.
I would not blame Rachna, if she does not support Gunjan at that moment. Even the most sensible people loose their objectivity under such circumstances. She is just an young girl. But with time, she should be able to pick up pieces of life and mend her relations.
