Another year went by leaving behind many memories from our favorite shows. Shows that created headlines within the Indian Television Industry through their tracks, scenes and also mighty controversies. By reminiscing and recalling the past year, we recollected the Top 10 shows which could garner heavy attention towards them.
Diya Aur Baati Hum: The show topped the TRP charts for a major period of time in the year. The Chef competition in Singapore and also the Terrorism track could pull a lot of viewers' interest. The slow but steady love and trust growing between Suraj and Sandhya had also been liked and watched by the major TRP generating audiences.

But following the path of Bade Ache Lagte Hain, this show also telecasted a very sensuous liplock in an early evening slot which eventually turned a lot of heads towards the show. Viewers also loved the chemistry between the pole apart sisters and their little nok jhok along with their strong bond.
Pavitra Rishta: The high point in the show would be the Arjun-Purvi confession sequence. Their love growing, the realisation, the denial and finally the confession. The viewers absolutely loved the on-screen pair of Arjun and Purvi. Another high dramatic point in the show would be Purvi's sacrifice and Arjun's marriage with Ovi.
Punar Vivah: The kidnapping track of the child, the honeymoon sequence, the consummation scene, Yash and Aarti's marriage,Aarti's realisation of love,Yash's confession of love and finally Yash getting to know that Aarti is a divorcee and that Prashant is her first husband . These are some scenes which were able to gain audience's attention. People loved Yash and Aarti's chemistry along with the children between them.
Ek Hazaron Mein Meri Behna Hai: The most TRP gaining and highlighting point in the show this year had been the entire track where Maanvi duels with the most abhorrent disease Cancer. For the first time on Indian Television, two of the leads chose to get bald to make the sequence look real. The viewers saluted Maanvi's spirit to fight the disease. Viren's support with Maanvi and Virat, their blooming love against all other misconceptions and also Jeevika and Viren's battle with their own family to save Maanvi from the clutches of death were applauded by the Viewers. The entire track was a TRP gainer.
Devon ke Dev Mahadev: The most eye catching and a quick TRP gainer show for Life OK. This show had been on focus due to the wonderful special effects and cinematography it ventured out. The Shiv-Sati and Shiv-Parvati wedding tracks, the presentation of the unbeatable Goddess Kali had been some of the vital points of the show. The show could gain high TRPs even after competing with some of the strongest contenders at the 8 pm slot.
Madhubala… Ek Ishq Ek Junoon: Madhubala had been the costliest show on Indian Television so far with a heavy budget. The show was under major attention due to its plot been created under the shadow of the Bollywood Silver Screen. The show could gain the highest TRP till date with its opening episode as compared to any other earlier shows. The initial opening episodes , Madhuabala birth on the sets, the ever-controversial wedding between Madhubala and Superstar RK with the 4 pheras, the huge, colossal and massive Ganpati celebrations and RK getting shot, RK's recovery and dependence on Madhubala, a vulnerable RK confessing his love for Madhubala, the return of Balraj Chowdhry, all these twists with the turns of the script had been the most turning points earning high TRPs and making headlines for the show.
Iss Pyar Ko Kya Naam Doon: The 'Teri Meri' dance sequence, The forceful marriage of Arnav and Khushi, The unexpected Holi confession, Shyam's revelation, The Remarriage sequence and the consummation scene between Arnav and Khushi are the most highlighting points of the show. The show saw its highest peak and also the end of it in the very year of 2012. It faced immense controversies towards it closure. The show attained headlines due to its massive International viewership. However, it got some huge attention as for the first time in the history of Indian Television the channel decided to end the show abruptly as per the choice of the ample amount of viewers of this show when the Male Lead Barun Sobti opted to leave the show.
